Don't post in this forum asking is there is a schematic or layout or info on XXX pedal.
There is a subforum setup for requests already. It is located here:
REQUESTS FORUM
Any requests posted here will be moved to proper sub forum, and I'll also make nasty remarks about your mother.
also, if you have a problem with your build, post it in the WORKBENCH. these threads are for circuit analysis only. by all means, if you discover something we should...
Morecowbell, thanks for those great links you posted, but if they are all avaible from one location, it's better to just post that one link. If people are interested in discussion about this or that box, that can become a separate thread.
They are all in the $59-159 price range! Anybody has more info on this brand, we're still waiting for the english version of the website..
Just got a Stone Fuzz and find it works really well between my Les Paul and Marshall. Cleans up well with guitar volume. Does anybody know what circuit this is based on? Here are some pictures...
Well I recently picked up one of these Thrashmasters in a metal enclosure and I must say it sounds superb. The name is rather unfortunate though.. :hmmm:
It can cover ALOT of ground, from relatively low gain overdrive to Marshall shredmaster without sounding muddy or inarticulate. Plenty of mids too. Its become my favorite distortion box in a short time, bumping my MIJ DS-1 off the board. Anybody know what this pedal is based on?
Its got a single jrc4558 in it and sounds kinda like a real hot...
New, with a couple of good ideas. The tone control seems to combine some aspects of the tilt style bass/treble balance and a mids control (there's a pic of its function in the vid). The DSP tone shaping (EQ and distortion in series with analog distortion) seems like an interesting idea, sort of like using one of the M series pedals after an analog dirt pedal. That said, the demo sounds awful to me...
Following Rocklander's fond memories of his younger age  , I bought this unit for cheap.
Tough case, DC jacks and switch are identical to Boss' ones. Pots are Alps (japan). Electros are Rubycons. Good overall quality so far.
Traced it. 0.99:1 clone of the DS-1. Add one RC series network to ground after the IC, and change the output transistor emitter resistor to 10k and you're done. Transistor types vary too, but IC is identical.
Found a blue box mod...although if you listen to the soundclips, it sounds worse after the mod in my opinion. Just thought I'd share for those into that sort of sound.
I make a layout of that device acording to schematic posted by KMG if anyone can look at this and check the layout mostly transistors outputs for mistakes...
When everything will be done i will upload pdf files with ready to print layout.
Well... it's from a new line of guitar pedals this brazilian company is distributing for cheap.
I have one in my hands, so I tested it and after some playing with it I devided to open it to know its guts.
It's a Belcat fabricated one, as I saw in the PCB, FUZ-520. It looks like a OpAmp (uA741) with red LED's at the output for clipping. It has a J201 too. The footswitch is a miniature 3PDT. I didn't dislike its sound, but unlike my beloved fuzzes, it does not clean the guitars sound when I lower...
One morning, someone in Korea woke up and said We need to create a guitar to fill a need no one knows they have, and in the process create a guitar that doesn't fill any needs very well! So they built a line of decent plywood guitars (superstrat and Gibson styled). Mine is an Explorer takeoff in a mahogany ply-all interleaves seem to be mahogany. It's set neck, with a striking adder headstock, grover copy tuners, 22 medium jumbo frets, a pair of humbuckers looking like DiMarzios, with decent...
hey guys, i think it was scruffie asked if i could up some shots of this beast.
i'm trying to get it to work again for a friend. have replaced ALL the electros. one was a 22u that had had the covering removed. seemed to me the side referenced to ground was obvious, and it was the only unmarked cap on the board. i used the schematic from toppopicione's but i believe that may have a couple errors.
or it could be my eyes...that schem is hard to see.
unfortunately, i don't have a digital camera...
I picked this up in a trade with a fellow forum member.
I suspect it has been modded because it has a standard Boss-style DC input jack.
Also, when the flange is in the higher frequencies of the sweep, there is some hiss and also oscillation. Do yo guys think it could be the 1024 chip is going bad?
Other than the odd sounds, I really dig the overall sound of this thing. :thumbsup
I had to replace the filter cap on one of these cause some moisture got in there. Problems have bee reoccuring ever since, like no delay, excessive what I assume to be clock noise, low output of dry signal. I open it up and resolder the cap and things go back to normal, at least they used to , now it seems permanently plagued with excessive clock noise.
I'm not great with pcbs, and may have ultimately compromized the pads, although the pcb quality looks pretty good. MY nexy step its to try and...
I was wondering if anyone has any info about this nice piece of bass preamp!?
If anyone has schematic I'd be more than glad about making, and indeed uploading a layout!
Or maybe some has a original one and could take some gut pictures? So that I could try to route the schematic...
I think this preamp and the Tech21 Bass Driver DI are the BEST bass preamps/overdrives ever made, well at least the best I've ever tried... hehe!
So does anyone have any info?
I am looking for a layout to build the BS-2 on a Stripboard. Does anybody have an idea where to find any information or even better to find the layout for that?
Any interest in this one? I just had one come in, so If there's an interest, I'll take more pics. It sounds great on bass, IMO. The Wah/Volume function just eliminated 2 pedals from my board.
It's dual sided, all SMD. Looks simple enough, but it's probably going to take more than a couple of people to trace.
Ok... not exactly a stomp box, but it is an interesting circuit; passive limiter (as in no batteries - there are active devices in the circuit)
There are two identical circuits inside the box (not identical here, as one of them is snapped in half)
The printed resistors on the back side of the board are each individually shorted out with a little wire... seems a shame, as they appear to have been laser trimmed.
comp markings;
ICM 267A - transformer
K974 J 1C - big fets(?). probably 2SK974S...
Anyone see/heard/tried one of these ? I've seen them on eBay for around £85.
If it's as crap as the labelling, I suppose you could always build a Baja Real Tube circuit inside it.
The case is brushed steel, and I think it looks quite cool, but the left-hand footswitch selects between 'Slick' (spelled Silick (!) on the panel) and Fluff - and who wouldn't fancy a bit of Fluff now and again ?
