Another part should be modification: on ebay you can buy really cheap pedals. For example this week I bought a Ken-Multi/monarch Distortion for Eur 8,50 plus shipment. This boxes are not so bad. For example the PSK SDS-2, SDS-3 or SDS-5 (seems to be now the roque SDS-5 can be easily be modified to be a Rat. They put in this unit since years a 470 Ohm instead of the 47 Ohm resistor in the...
So I acquired an EHX knockout attack EQ with the idea that I could mod it into a multiband distortion. As you can see from the schematic , the thing is a couple of filter networks that can be blended with the dry signal.
My thought was to drop in clipping diodes at the bases of Q1 and Q2, thus keeping the clippers isolated to each band. Problem is, the AC voltage at that point is SUPER low (~100mV on the high and clean channel on my humbuckers if I really spank the strings, more like ~300mV on...
Hi folks, long time lurker, first time poster here. I've got a Guyatone VT-2 on my bench here which is working fine (and is a lovely little pedal - all through hole with space for a battery - wild!) I've taken in as it's causing a bit of a noticeable volume drop when it's engaged. I've found a schematic in [url= another post.
Having played a little with the trimmer, there's still a bit of a drop, (not as bad perhaps I haven't dialled it in quite yet), I was wondering if anyone has any...
I've Just joined and wondering if anyone can help me.
I've got the J&J overdrive which i really like but wish it was a bit brighter. it seems to be a really simple circuit and proberly instantly recognisable to the experienced eye with common mods to this type of circuit. I've attached a picture of the board and marked all the capacitor values. I have a few questions and would appreciate in advance if someone could help.
1. How could I make it brighter overall ? even with the...
Hi all,as we know the MT2 sounds like a dead wood, what can we do to improve the sounds?
and is there anyway to change it to truebypass? using DPDT switch.
So i bought this pedal (which is based on a Tech 21 British), and has this cab sim that i personally dislike. Is there any schematic or layout for this pedal so i can bypass the cab sim?
I just received a Behringer overdrive pedal the TO808 and have found a tiny boost pedal circuit that i want to put in it.
I got this idea from seeing a tubescreamer moded with a bad bob boost circut see pic below.
How would i connect the 2 together if i wanted to have the boost after the overdrive?
Is it a matter of wiring the boost to the output lug of the overdrive etc?
I guess it would be similar to making a dual overdrive/boost pedal but in an existing housing?
Id like them to also...
Have had some great success in the process of integrating my DD-2/3 (undecided) into my MultiFX board.
Last thing to get my head around is wiring it so it is always on. It doesn't use the standard flip-flop bypass in most Boss pedals, so bridging is out of the equation.
It know it's possible as Pete Cornish does it in his TES model, and my old Cornish Board had a DD-3 in also.
We take two HC ratings for 2 different pedals:
Sound Quality 8.6 (23 responses)
Sound Quality 3.9 (9 responses)
I own em both. The first one is a long time stayer in my live setup and is known as the Ibanez Fat Cat (FC10)... as we all know it's a clone of a certain rodent. If the Fat Cat stays at home i't usually because a real Rodent is entering the stage.
The second one was bought years ago and has been doing virtually nothing but gathering dust in...
-Swap one of the red clipping LEDs for Ge, one for Si (small signal types).
-Add 100k in parallel with R13
-Add 1k in parallel with R20
-Add 1M in parallel with R35
-Add 22k in parallel with R26
-Short R24
-Add 47n cap in parallel with C23
There are 2 reasons for doing all those things in parallel: it's obvious what and where the mods are, and easy to revert back to stock if desired (just snip out the added parts with a pair of side cuts).
Have seen some old posts on this. Twas not a popular pedal, but I think I figured it out. This works perfectly, and with the previously suggested clipping upgrades it is a killer distortion pedal. Unfortunately, I have not been able to solve the FET switching noise.
As noted, there is a place on the circuit board for an LED. You just need four things to do this - a 3 or 5 mm LED of your color choice, a resistor (850ohm minimum - I used a 1k with a 5mm violet water-clear LED - these are not...
I am not sure I really understand how pot value works for the gain control in a circuit. I'm hoping somebody can explain like I am 5.
I modified an SD-1 and changed R6/C3 to give the pedal more gain. It still has the stock 1M pot. I have all the gain I need at about 12 o'clock. Am I correct in assuming that if I change out the pot to a 500k it will have the same amount of gain at max but a more useful and precise sweep of the pot?
Also, isn't there a way to strap a 1M resistor across the...
I figured I would share some of my mods for the Super Metal Ibanez series pedals. I have worked from the schematic posted here:
I had an Ibanez SM 9 many moons ago which was sadly stolen, and recently revived an Ibanez SML that made it's way into my hands DOA. I played it in stock configuration for a bit and it was about how I remembered: lower output, sort of a thicker and fuzzier distortion character, and very mid focused. The stock tone shaping controls offer a wide and...
I took gut shots, posting them here. Hopefully they aren't too blurry. I can't see well enough in my old age to trace out the surface mount stuff myself.
I returned one because it oscillated with the controls turned up, this one doesn't do it as badly. Possible mods to lower the gain or whatever causes it to do that?
I apologize if wrongly posted. First time poster long time user. Id like to operate my looper with multiple foot switches. Can i do this by soldering directly onto leeds switch on pedal? Bring all 3 ts into one? All info ive found is for doing opposite, ive got her all opened up just curious here to connect
Hi, I've recently completed a Chicken Salad re-house with info posted here from you kind folks on this board.
I'm about to attempt the same with a Rocky Road. I found this schematic for the In/Out board. I'm having trouble understanding what's going on, there appear to be two signal inputs going to the main board connector and two returns.
Here's the schematic - I'd be really grateful if someone could shed some light on what's happening on pins 2&3 and pins 6&7 - thanks!!
I'm in the process of modding a vintage Thomas Organ Crybaby. I was going to use some 1/4W carbon comp resistors that I already have to replace some of the stock 1/2W for mods.
I'm looking to modify my Joyo Ultimate drive pedal.
I do understand that it's a clone of the Fulltone OCD.
I own a Fulltone OCD version 2 and I love the response of the pedal but it seems to lack low end. ( I am a bass player. I hope I didn't forget to mention that) As far modding the Fulltone, I'm not going to mod that pedal yet.
