Another part should be modification: on ebay you can buy really cheap pedals. For example this week I bought a Ken-Multi/monarch Distortion for Eur 8,50 plus shipment. This boxes are not so bad. For example the PSK SDS-2, SDS-3 or SDS-5 (seems to be now the roque SDS-5 can be easily be modified to be a Rat. They put in this unit since years a 470 Ohm instead of the 47 Ohm resistor in the...
I know it's possible to use a stacked pot in place of the stock tone pot to adjust high and low frequencies. Has anybody done this? Maybe a quick how-to? Any help is appreciated!
Hey Guys.
I was just wandering if any1 can help me mod my ibanez DE7
I would love to replace my switch because its craping out on me
and I would love to add another momentary switch for
self oscilation.
Do you think thats possible? That would make a perfect delay!
HELP ME PLS!
Tnx
Picked this cheap 350ms belcat delay up for a tenner, just to have a go at modding.
So, i've removed the smd R18 resistor and crudely added a 47k resistor which has increased the delay time nicely. It also seems to have removed the muddy noise that was in the background too.
The downside is that there's a zipper type sound now every time you strike a note which i assume is due to the pt2399 chip - could anyone advise how i could remove the noise?
What I want to do is trace my Joyo UO and I've seen where someone has taken pics of both sides of the board and superimposed one over the other making it easier to trace the circuit. If I take pics of both sides can someone do this for me? Thanks in advance.
I recently picked up a used Behringer VT999 vintage tube monster pedal. I replaced the stock tube with a old low stress Baldwin 12au7 which makes it sound worlds better. Im looking for a great just- barely starting to break up clean tone :? . At this point I have the gain set to just under 1 on the pedal. Is there another tube that would fit this thing with even less gain/fuzz/distortion than the 12au7?? Id like a tube that has the .75 to 1 sound 8) that I am getting now when the gain knob is...
Trying to help a buddy out who wants to get a little bit of gain into his bass sound. Nothing crazy like a fuzz or anything but something that sounds just like the light clipping you'd have from a cranked tube amp. I suggested just a boost but he said he's tried that and gets nothing. He's playing out of a GK700 head and apparently cranking that up either doesnt provide good distortion or doesnt distort at all.
My initial thought was some kind of simple LED clipper, like maybe a guv'nor...
I'm an occasional lurker, I have a diy phase every year or so, it usually ends after I get stuck on some mod/clone project that refuses to work like it should.
ANYWAYZ, I was looking for somekind of Vexter superduper clone that would cost me a fraction of a real one, since I can't seem to find a used one anywere atm.
Anyone ever have the chance of trying this one, and maybe even open it up? How does it compare to the SuperDuper 2in1, which it is supposedly based on? It's dirt cheap,...
So i was looking at the TS9 and SD1 circuits. I noticed the R1- C1 combination on an SD1 is actually C1- R1 on a tubescreamer.. does this mean the filter is working differently? people are saying to change the SD1 values to match TS9, i was wondering about this difference.
What does decreasing R1 do on an SD1 by the way? thanks guys
I am a novice organ player and last year some time I picked up a Rocky Road to use as a Leslie simulator. It is the only one of the lower end brands I tried but was for the most part satisfied with the performance, especially for the price. My regular keyboard player plays through a real 147 and while it sounds awesome, it does cause trouble in smaller clubs and with stage volume. My soundman said we should get our regular guy a RR, much more manageable for him (not to mention easier to load...
Hi guys, i've been looking around and cant seem to find any modifications for the Morley Classic wah, the one with the LED and light receptor to change the range. what kinds of mods are there, the one my uncle uses (the one i want to mod) has a humiliating sweep and doesn't really wahwah the sound at all. thanks!
I recently modified a friend's Boss DS-1 by implementing the seeying eye and ultra mod. A change/improvement is noticeable, both mods work in general. The only annoying thing is some kind of pre-compression or whatever, this means the sound is slightly decreased in gain/volume for a moment after hitting the strings, then it turns back to the expected sound. This effect turns out stronger with higher-output pickups.
I double-checked the changes and the components, everything looks fine -...
I picked up one of these cheap the other day and am liking it pretty well. The repeats seem to have a little more poke than the Boss DM-2 that I'm used to, but I think I can work with that. The problem I'm having is that the repeats disappear if I move the mix knob below 9:00. Above 9:00, they are a little too loud for the sound I'm going for. All three pots are marked Alpha W100k, are quiet and appear to be in good working order. If anyone could offer a fix, I'd be grateful. I'm also curious...
I'm rehousing my ProCo Brat (aka RoadKill distortion) into a standard Hammond stompbox. The circuit card fits in nicely, but I've had to remove the PCB-mounted input/output jacks. I've also clipped off the 4 diodes in the feedback loop, to try to bring the thing closer to a RAT.
I'm going to leave it with electronic switching and bypass for now. I've noticed when using the Brat previously, that it *POPS* when switching. :slap: Actually more like a click or thud, but you get the idea. Is there...
I recently bought a TS9 as a substitute for my SD-1, and afterwards i thought i'd give the SD-1 a spin on the workbench, to see if i can get it to behave a bit more like i think it should.
I'm the kind of guy who learns best by writing stuff down while studying on the subject, so i thought that as i progress, i might as well write an entry level article about the various building blocks of the circuit (input- and output buffers, drive circuit and tone control circuit mostly), and list...
I stumbled across these on thomann.de, while i was looking for something else:
Is that metal enclosures?
If these are metal enclosures, I don't think I can even get a switch and the enclosure for the same money here in Denmark. At least i have no idea where to look :?
I'm considering buying the vintage drive and the crunch distortion, just for kicks :) Then I would at least have enclosures, stomp switches and I/O jacks for a few homebrew-pedals
I'm a bit of a noob at this so I'm hoping some one can give me a quick answer. I've done the mod's as listed:
390 - 330
1.5K - 1.8K
33K - 47K
.01uF > .022uF
I haven't performed the true bypass yet but plan to.
I'm getting some nice results. However, I'm still getting a sharp peak on the sweep from bass to trebles. Someone described it as the peak of the mountain be too high too quick which is a good anology.
I'm curious if that sharp peak is due to the original inductor being...
Does anybody know how to mod the Arion SAD-1 to increase the delay time?
Just like this one
An Arion SAD-1 with such a delay (700ms?) is the best analog echo ever IMHO...
Would maybe a 250k delay pot, instead of the stock 500k, double the delay time? :hmmm:
I recently got a Double Muff and I love the way it sounds in double mode with both muff dials on full but it's so increible loud that i have to use a volume pedal to tame the beast. Is there a way to ad a resistor at the out jack to lower the output but not the overdrive? If so what value and where do i hook it up? Thanks.
