Looking for a particular component or hardware part and you just cannot find it? Got comoonents surplus and want to get rid of it? Post it all here... No sales of working pedals, put these in the 'Seen for sale' section please.
I'm opening up this forum for people who want to get rid of some stuff they bought too much of. If I was hesistant about this initally, it was only because of the problems and altrication that might come from this, rather than this idea of members helping out one another.

I've noticed that a few boutique pedal builders & kits suppliers use these Chinese made die cast enclosures that look like a Hammond enclosure, but they are not as heavy duty as the Hammond enclosures and have the markings NCS and Made In China on the inside. Some online parts sources also sell these enclosures as well.
My question is does anyone know where to get them directly other than having to go thru a dealer and pay for the middle man? I am wanting to develop some of my own products to...
Just wondering if anyone has a supplier of quality pots at reasonable cost.
Mouser don't carry CTS anymore, and don't seem to have suitable Pihers.
They have some nice looking Bourns, but not much choice of Resistance ot Taper (no reverse Audio).
Anyone here have any idea of where to buy parts in NYC? I usually order my stuff from smallbear but for some things i'd like to be able to just pop into a store and buy them (i.e. vero board today!).
So if you're in the USA and you order a small amount of parts (less than $10 worth), do you have to spend more than $7 in shipping?
Around $7 in shipping seems to be the cheapest I can find. Is there a source that provides cheaper shipping?
Where the hell can I find this grey two-conductor (coaxial?) wire with the blue 0,5qmm conductor? Mr. D*A*M uses it in most of his pedals, but I cannot find it anywhere
Fred B. suggested I check here on this. I have some really nice Philips/Mullard black glass OC44's (early 60's, allegedly); I'd like to trade 5 or 10 of these for OC140 or other good Ge's of the NPN persuasion. The 44's almost always test out with zero leakage with my remarkable Peak Electronics Atlas DCA (everyone should have one of these) ;-)
If you need a specific gain range, I can also do that, as these tend to cluster pretty nicely around the desirable 100 mark. All I ask is that yours...
I have enough parts to make the alembic / fender bass preamp. But how different would it sound with bumblebee's vs. orange drops? Or would it just be cooler?
I see some/lots of pedals on vero boards but I cant seem to find the kind thats most often used. I see way too many that are like pc cards from 1862!
Hey all,
Ordering parts for my first build from Mouser.com, and i've just gotten to the money bit. My delivery options are FedEx, DHL, UPS and USPS. However, the issue of customs fees, VAT and other sham has come up. Here's what information i've been given:
International Shipping Charges
We ship orders via UPS or FedEx to most locations worldwide at special low prices.
No Handling Fees
Orders shipped via UPS Worldwide Express Saver or FedEx International Priority are not charged any handling...
Found a bunch of stuff at a yard sale cheap, LEDs, caps, etc. But also a bunch of ICs were in the box, I'm not too familiar with them. I was wondering if any of you guys could identify some of these parts, and if any are useful for stompbox audio? Most look like computer stuff to me -- here's some pics:
I forgot to order a 78L05 regulator, a 1uF EL, and a 3.9nF cap with my order,
and also need a 1M Log dual gang / stereo pot for my Sonic Boomer build :blackeye
I have some money in my Paypal, so if anyone has these lemme know 8)
Would prefer to get them from someone in the UK to save time and postage, or at least the 78l05 to finish my Echo Base :block:
I looked around and couldn't see it alot but is a great website for parts in the U.K, it's cheap components with £1.50 delivery for any sized order, the site is minimalist, but its there, just after looking at rapid and maplin, this stands out as value and the service is amazing (First class delivery every order out of 10 orders the one time they made a mistake they sent me it next day delivery & with extra parts free of charge) An other is bowood-electronics.com but i have no experience with...
Hey guys, I'm just looking for one tested NPN germanium (OC140, etc.) that has suitable specs for a Rangemaster. I know Smallbear has some but I don't really need to place a full order with them right now so I figured I'd post here first. Just PM me with what you have and a price. Thanks!
I'm still new to the pedal building game, but I saw that the prices for most of the hardware could get pretty exorbitant. So, I decided that for the price of hardware for the 10 pedals I needed boxing up I could just order enough for 50 and sell of the excess to help fund this addicting new hobby of mine. The prices are very reasonable because, like I've told the guys at BYOC, I'm doing this to give back to the DIY community I've learned so much from. I don't have the knowledge and experience...
I'm looking for some low gain (40-70 hFe), high leakage (2000-3000 µA) AC127's for a Screwdriver build. I figure someone here would have some junk ones like this after buying a lot. I'm also looking for some ICL7660SCPA chips for a Klon build. Unfortunately Mouser didn't have them, and I don't have enough stuff to order from Digikey.
I'd like 4 or so AC127's and 2 ILC7660SCPAs, preferably from the same person to cut down on shipping, but we'll see how it goes.
Would anyone be interested in getting some piggy back boards for the AD-9 to double the delay time. I am having some made and if some others wanted some I could add a few to my order. It's a small run so I am doing them without solder mask but the boards will be double sided with plated through holes and a solid ground plane on the solder side. Component side will be labled but there will not be component outlines. I spaced my BBD's a bit farther apart than Dirks piggy back and I am hoping that...
found a guy on ebay that is selling these caps. for 100 bucks, you get 2000 @ .01uF.
so if we get 10 people, we could each get 200(!) caps for roughly 10 bucks. i wouldn't mind going down to 5/100 if we get more people, too. remember there will be a bit extra for shipping costs.
Just built my first RAT clone and while I'm digging the tones I'm discovering the volume cut outs and or lack of control of volume and gain are coming from the 100KA Alpha Pots I'm using. (The RAT needs 3) For instance, the volume control wasn't working, i.e. full on all the time but if I use a probe to push on the phenolic terminal mounting I can get it to work. The First 100KA Alpha I used was the opposite, no volume unless you pushed the terminal mounting around a bit.
I love the 24 gauge pre tinned or bonded stranded wire they sell at pedal parts plus:
But I prefer 22 gauge wire. Anyone know where to find this same stuff in 22 gauge?
