Introduction
Eagle CAD offers the best value for individuals and small businesses. However some of its user interface features are different from what we normally expect. For those of us who layout boards occasionally, it is an effort to relearn the Eagle CAD each time we come back to it. I have tried to document the Eagle CAD user interface idiosyncracies here to make it easier to do PCB layou with it.
Apparently Adobe turned off the activation servers for their older software and posted updated versions of the software to replace the old version. It's still the same software from 2005 (or 2007?), but it doesn't require activation and they provide the serial numbers. Technically, it's supposed to be for customers that had already purchased the software back in the day and may need to re-install; however, Adobe did not add any check for existing licensed copies and they posted more software...
Has anybody used upverter.com? I just came across it looks very cool. online design tool for circuit design, simulation and prototyping; and it's colabrotive. I am not affiliated with them in any way, just thought I'd share.
Hey, fellas!
I've searched through the Internet and read many, many advices on designing PCBs, but to be honest - I've never really found what I need. There were tutorials showing some things about ground placement etc, but when I draw a schematic and export it to board designing program I just don't know what and how to do next. The ratsnest seems like one big random something and doesn't really help placing components. I can, let's say, place some pots and jack inputs regarding the whole...
I can't find np electrolytics in eagle does anyone know where they are? the polar ones are there and all the other np types but no np electros. thank you
Hey everyone.
I am slowly digging into PCB designing, and now I've encountered a silly problem.. I'm designing a no offboard wiring PCB for a Ruby amp with the bassman mods, with the board size suited for a particular box. The fact is I have too much space there, therefore I don't really know what configuration will work the best. If I were limited by space I think there would be no problem. ;p
So here's my layout. It's kinda done, but I'm not sure about it.

What should I...
The origional is a MS Works file. We use this for parts substitutions and such.
I used a JAVA Web applet to convert to Excel. Its not perfect, but I think anybody here could fix it.
The idea with the sheet is say you need a transistor..you can search the part, and find specs...then use the search function to match it to hfe, volts, current, and such. Like a crossover sheet, but one thats active .
I have included the origional works file as well as excel.
Hello,
I have a bass preamp in hand. I'd like to copy it. How can I copy that board and make parts layout? Can I make this in Eagle? I have picture of the board with measurements. Can I bring it to Eagle and draw the board on top of that picture and then drop out the picture and make parts layout on that drawn board? Or do I just have to draw it from scratch?

Well hello everyone!
I came here to bring you something very useful and interesting!
Those are the most similar to the original fonts used by some of the guitar FX brands, all in one zip file.
And a little bonus:
I don't take responsibility of what you gonna do with those fonts. Most of them are commercial, but I managed to find them on a normal free fonts site. So please, don't do anything stupid. It's only for personal use.
I'm using DIYLC 3.1.0 (and also tried 3.6.0) beta and having a strange problem. I'm using the Image function under the MISC tab. I imported a couple of .JPG files of components that were not in the library. Seemed to work fine. When I saved the file, closed DIYLC, then tried to open the file the next time, DIYLC gave me the following error:
Could not open file [ my file path and name.diy ]. Check the log for details.
In the log, the first few lines where the problem occurs look like this....
I am designing a couple circuits in Eagle.
I want to be able to have two separate circuits in the same project, on the same board, but put a perforation in between the two.
Not only for the cost savings of duplicating two circuits on one board, but because sometimes I need the boards separate and sometimes together.
Is there a way to add a 'perforation line' on the project so that when I get them duplicated, they can be snapped apart if necessary?
I'm starting myself in Eagle. I did my first layout but cant find the tool to create pads for ins, outs, ground and powering. How the fuck I should do it?
I've used the combo of VeeCad and TinyCad to do designs but since I only have the free version of VeeCad, the mono colors can get a bit confusing at times.
I really like DIYLC, but I can't figure out how to bring in a schematic and use that as the basis of my project. Is there a way to do this or do I just have to trace everything by hand?
I'm just looking for a way to make sure that my connections are right which gets difficult in more complex circuits without some kind of schematic...
hi, does anyone know of a relatively simple-to-use circuit design software with .wav or other audio file input?
it seems a great idea to do a pedal circuit in a software program and use a .wav file recording to 'play through the circuit' and hear the results while modifying the design.
i have looked at some of the high end programs, they are a bit beyond my available time and perhaps brain power i think!
