Multi-Effects Putting two effects in one box almost looks too easy, but you will save a lot of time reading the frequent questions before starting such a project...
i used a dpdt switch with millenium bypass LED indicator to my tonepad clone Boss DS-1.but the problem is when i engaged it on ..theres a thud sound..!
i done some fixing solution..increasing the value of the input resistor going to the ground ..and changing the value increase the output resistor that goes to the ground..still the thud sound still there, when i bypassed it on.
Just wondering if anyone has any recomendations about what wire to use for hookups.
Ive searched everywhere but cant find much.
Ive been looking a 24awg stranded. I have been using 1/0.6 and 700.2 but find the solid core to fragile and the stranded stuff to thin.
If anyone can shed some light and recomend. :slap:
I'd like to be able to use my synth and guitar simultaneously - Battles style : )
I'm currently just using my TB looper to switch between the two but that method doesn't allow me to use both at once. If I just build a box with two inputs going to one output, will that cause any issues/is that problematic? I know the Boss LS-2 can have to effects running parallel but that involves all the inards that make it happen.
I want to rack mount my effects and have a switch bank on the floor. From what I've been reading, relays seem to be the way to go. Problem is, I don't know what kind or how to do it. So if anyone knows how... that'd help... Musique has a board for true bypass switching with a relay, but some of my pedals (Darkside) are not true bypass. So can anyone give me some help here?
hey im just curious how you would go about wiring a mix know? like say a delay, one side is dry the other is full effect. would it just be as easy as wiring each output (the dry and wet) to the outside lugs, then the summed out from the wiper? or is there a better way?
I'd like to add two 3-way mini dpdt switches. One to select 3 different input caps, and another to select 3 different transistors.
Problem is...I don't know how to wire the mini switches up. The switches have 6 lugs. Won't I need all 6 lugs just for the legs of the caps or transistors?
Hi guys,
I have just made this Feedback Looper pedal, but I have used an extra 3PDT instead of the SPDT for the feedback switch, I am confused as to how to connect an LED to the feedback switch to show that it is on or off? I know it should be easy but I cant for the life of me get it to work? Please can someone help?
thanks in advance
Rob.
I rehoused my Chicken Salad and got everything wired up and plugged it in and when I did, the board got power because the lamp was on, but the switch doesn't work. I used the schematic seen in this post assuming that the label on the switch was at the top of switch in diagram. The LED hooked to the switch doesn't light up at all.
I am trying to keep the cable/conductor count between my pedalboard and rack as low as possible. Is there any reason I shouldn't use a 3-wire cable between my homemade A/B switch outputs at the pedalboard and my two preamp inputs back at the rack? Seems I could split the signal ground just as easily at the rack. Thanks for any help you might afford me.
Hey! I am planning a stompbox project and am wondering if there are any detriments to using copper wire instead of a pcb board? I am planning on using copper wire (or maybe some other type of wire if anyone has any suggestions) for the whole circuit, is there any reason this would not work/would provide poor results?
Hi all,
Sorry for the noob question but does anyone out there have any pics of how they accomplish this in their builds?
I understand where the wire goes to on the 3PDT but it's the actual joining of the jack>wire>resistor>LED that I don't quite get in terms of the actual soldering and placement. Do I just stick the resistor and LED in the chain so it literally goes:
9V jack > wire > resistor >(wire) > LED > wire > 3PDT
I'm just in the middle of my first build and am worried things hanging...
First, love the site! I'm extremely new to this, just ordered the parts for my first pedal today as a matter of fact, and I've been reading everything I can point my browser to. I've come across something I'm a bit confused about. I read that in order for the battery to be disconnected from the circuit when you pull the cable out of the input jack that the jack has to be stereo. I ordered mono jacks for the Snow White autowah build (Yes, I'm getting help since that is a pretty ambitious first...
Hello all, I'm about to get under way with my first stompbox project here. It's the MXR envelope filter from tonepad ( (Yes, a bit challenging for a first, but I dream big). Right now I'm trying to plan out the wiring of the power jack and the dpdt. I'm trying to do the millennium bypass listed as offboard wiring #3 on tonepad ( so that I can get true bypass with a status led too. Just to be sure, the millennium bypass is a true bypass right? Anyway, the diagram shows stuff connecting to the...
I've heard about a lot of people using shielded cables for the in/out connections on their high gain builds (muffs, most notably). I have two questions regarding shielded cable and its use:
1. Does one connect the shield to ground? Or is it left unconnected.
2. Anyone ever thought of making their own with kitchen foil, regular hookup wire, and heat shrink?
Hi, I'm new here. I've been making fuzz boxes for about a year with varied success. My first project was a Rangemaster, however which I made from R.G. Keen's plans at geofex. Now these plans are fine but they do not explain how the wiring connects to the switch. I got mine working, but it was by trial and error. Still the pedal is a killer. What I am trying to do now is make one with a DPDT switch, and I'm damned if I can figure out how to wire the switch. I have once again followed the geofex...
