Multi-Effects Putting two effects in one box almost looks too easy, but you will save a lot of time reading the frequent questions before starting such a project...
Hi guys, is there like a theory that i can understand how the 3pdt/dpdt switch works? Sometimes, when i see some builds, the true bypass wiring seems a little different from this But i guess both work the same way.
Built a Fuzz face, circuit works fine with mono jacks.
I have tried about 2 or 3 3pdt wiring schemes for true bypass with led and i can't get sound. Led works though.
The stereo jack I am using for input apparently is switched and has 4 lugs. The 4th is connected to the Tip of the jack. I have tried to bridge the lug to the tip and it still did not work.
Have retested the circuit with mono jacks and it still works.
Hi, I have been modding a GCB95 Wah pedal giving it True Bypas, LED, Vocal mod, and a couple other changes.
The last change I want to make is to do the Sweep mod between two caps, 1k and 22uf using a DPDT On/On switch. I ran two wires from the board to the middle two switch posts, then soldered the caps on either end of the toggle switch. Doesn't seem to work so I think I may be wiring it wrong. I looked all over the net and found no wiring samples for switches and switching between two caps....
I was thinking how useful it can be a total mute (Somebody here use one? ) and if it is more convenient to locate it pre effects or after effects.
Seems quite logical to maintain ground continuity and send the signal cables to ground, but I'm not sure if it's so simple and does not need any extra component, like some pull down resistor, cap or something.
Opinions and help welcome.
I've a question, it probably has a pretty simple answer but being slightly thick I can't find it on my own.
I'm re-housing a cheapie Daphon EQ pedal, and the footswitch appears to be a tiny little tactile spst switch. It only has two wires going to it anyhow.
Anyway, I obviously want to swap it out for a more substantial footswitch, but couldn't find any nice big chunky SPST switches, so I thought I'd buy a DPDT and use that. All pretty straightforward so far eh?
I was wondering how to add an external tap tempo jack to the DL4? I want to be able to use a single tap for my DD-5 and DL4 to be able to sync them together. Is it as simple as adding a jack to the poles where the switch is connecting to the pcb? Any help would be appreciated!
So I'd like to put 2 pedals in one box. Basically, a Colorsound OD into a DAM Sonic Titan. One input and one output.
Here is how I'd like it to be done:
2 Footswitches. One engages the pedal (master on/off), the 2nd footswitch bypasses/engages the CSOD. BUT, I'd still like the 1st footswitch to turn off EVERYTHING, even if the CSOD is engaged, I'd like it to be cut off when using the 1st footswitch (master on/off).
And, even cooler, but not essential would be to have a toggle switch...
First off, before i start, here's the vero layout I'm working from for reference. Also, I'd like to note the circuit is working perfectly fine and verified by me. It's just the switching that's borked. I'd like to have the two effects in this pedal working independently from each other so I can turn on one or the other without first hitting the bypass switch. This is my first 2 effects in a box job. Not too happy about it.
I've tried a buttload of wiring schemes for the two footswitches, of...
The bass player from one of my bands and i tried out some different distortions/overdrives for his bass the other day. He ended up being madly in love with the sound of my modded BOSS SD-1 in parallel with a EHX Linear Power Boost. We talked about building a pedal for him, and i suppose that would be pretty cheap and easy, as musikding carries pcb's for both the SD-1 and the LPB.
I've built a stompbox to control midi using a usb gampad.
The current schematic makes it acting as a on/off switch.
Basiclly it means i have to press the switch four times to have it act as a signal sender.
Pressing it causes the midi signal to stay active instead of activate and deactive as it should have done with a momentary switch.
Thing is i need to keep the on/off function for the LED since the gamepad pcb can recive midisignals.
Im attaching a pic of the scheme i made and are using...
I have hunted high and low for direction on a project I am working on. I found this board and it looks like the right place to start. I have searched here and did not see what I am looking for but if you have a link that would be great.
What I want to do is build a small version of the carl martin octa switch. It is more for experimentation as I only dabble in this. I have basically set up an A-B switch to use as 2 loops. How ever I want to share my pedals across the loops so I don't need to...
IS there an accepted standard for relay switching with those nice soft SPDT (I assume non-latching) footswitches?
Anyone have a vero layout so I can test myself?
Also part numbers in the UK would be an extra bonus, but I can happily search.
Just figure if someone has done the groundwork it would be nice to get some feedback
Hi! this is my first post here.
I'm sorry for my sometimes bad english, i'm 17 and still studying :D
when i saw the flipflop circuit used in every boss pedal, which is relatively complicated, i thought that i could make a good switching system using a D-type integrated flip-flop. the only one i know is the CD4013: very unexpensive (it would be better a single-one, but i didn't find any.
here's the schematic, half CD4013 is used. that RC circuit should work as a debouncing system
as the...
If I want an A/B switcher with one input, one A output, and 2 B outputs, would I just jump another jack from from my initial B output?? I basically want to have A as an acoustic signal and B as an electric signal going to two amps. Thoughts??
Does anyone have a dod250 yellow overdrive pedal,,i am having a problem wiring it up inside as all the wires to ;swich;in/out jacks;ac;are all missing, there are four wires comming from the board ok.but im not sure how to wire it all up...to see the insde wiring would help.i have seen pictures of the inside of these pedals but not all connections are in view...pklease help
I just wanted to check - I just need to tie all of the grounds together, then to the jack sleeves and then to the negative terminal of the 9v jack? And then tie all the 9v+ together / to the positive terminal of the 9v jack? Is the switch just grounded through the case?
Hey guys,
I'm building a Devi Ever Shoegazer with a couple of her kits. Its two fuzz circuts in one box. The Soda Meiser going into the Torn's Peaker.
So heres my problem. I wired both of them by themselves and they both work fine but when I wire them in series I get nothing from the Torns Peaker side. The weird thing is when I touch the lugs on the back of the footswitch the signal starts to fade in and it starts to work. Any ideas of whats going on here? Any help would be much appreciated.
Pulldown resistors: When you might and might not need them to avoid footswitch pops if employing mechanical ‘true’ bypass, but no LED.
I originally posted a lot of what’s here somewhere else, but there was no real response and no discussion triggered. I realized I should have posted here really. Much of what I write is basic and obvious to many - but perhaps it’s of some help to others. All I’m really doing here is bringing together, and hopefully simplifying, some posts and articles on the...
From some time I have a idea and needs to have two of my fav fuzzes in one box. The idea includes switching/shifting between one fuzz or the other using one switch, and bypass of all using second switch. I've draw the layout of what I think may work, but often I'm getting confused when it comes to PNP circuits with 3PDT switches. Anyway - have a look, do you think it may run that way?
Layout includes two well know repro fuzz circuits, I'll do my own draw - more...
is this really bad? if your using the non true bypass wiring like this:
what makes really bad or how it worse if you mix the impedance and the bypass signal with your guitar? anything positive on this? just a little positive if your using this wiring style.
I think this thing should name vintage stompswitch wiring not non-true bypass because it has a bypass functionality also.
can i tag somewhere in the circuit of a diy pedal my millenium bypass led indicator rather than on the dpdt switch? but the function still the same.. it will lit up in on mode.. it will turn off on the bypass mode?
