I'm planning on building Wampler PlexiDrive but can't figure out how one would wire this with the input/ouput and power supply. I'm planning on using the offboard wiring mentioned here . I found a picture of another member who build a PlexiDrive. In the picture I see 4 wires which need to be connected to other parts. Which parts would this be and what else has to be connected using wires? I'm planning on using both a battery and 9 volt adaptor. You're help is greatly appreciated!

I have a 5 way power bank similar to the Signal Flex PS-9, Sound Lab Power Bank and the Meridian power bank it is unnamed so im not sure what make it is. I am currently building more pedals than the five outputs its offer and wondered if anyone knows if it is possible to run a daisy chains off the outputs to add more to my pedal board.

So, I'm starting to get into this modding pedals thing (really starting from zero), so today I disassembled a couple of battery chargers/transformers/remote controllers in order to grab some components from them.
I found some capacitors, some resistors, some diodes and some other stuff unknown to me.

I put some of them in my scanner to take a picture, and here it comes as attachment.

I built a 5 knob fuzz pedal using the PCB and wiring layout off of here:

I put it all together, drilled out the enclosure and housed it all inside just to check there was no contacts touching that shouldn't be but I get nothing when tested. No LED, no signal, using a battery or 9v power supply.

What's the best next step? Should I disassemble everything (assuming the PCB is all good) and try re-assmebling the pots/switch and inputs?

I'm a little unclear about using a multimeter/audio...

Sorry, I know there are a lot of combine 2 effects threads but I couldnt find one that addressed this specifically.

If I want to combine the 2 circuits in the top drawing, do I leave the clouded section in, or do I remove the output/input caps and pull down resistors and join them as in the second drawing? I know just hooking the input and output together would work, but are the extra caps necessary since the signal is already converted to DC and doesnt need to go back to AC until it leaves...

The input jack socket in the image below (circled in red) has three connection points to the circuit. I'm a bit confused as assuming the guitar jack is mono it should only have 2 connection points (ground and the tip). To further my confusion, the output socket only has 2 connections.

I can't work out what the blue 3x3 grid thing is and what it's doing? I know it's got soldered contacts on it like some kind of circuit board but what is it's purpose and how would I make one/what am I buying?

I am a serious noob and am just about to embark on my first project. I have noticed that on the veroboard layouts some of the components are writen up or down as you can see in the pic and i was wondering what is the difference and which way is which. im guessing one is possitive and the other negative and if this is the case which end is which.

I was just wondering what I should be expecting when I buy a bag of Mojo fuelled, super expensive NOS Germanium Transistors? How like am I to get a full bag of magic how many do you usually bin? I am talking about those that have high leakage 500uA, low gain <25 or just plain old duff?

Also how does does high leakage affect the build ? I have read Relative Importance of Gain in Fuzz Face

Ok so I have signal throughout my entire circuit but I have no effect at all. Actually the only place I dont have signal is at some spots in my diode clipping circuit, but I dont feel like this is the prob at all. Also, how can I get my pots and inputs and outputs grounded? I have to hold my cable to get it grounded. This is all on a bread board by the by. Ty for the help in advance!

I decided it would be a good idea to start building pedals. For my first pedal I decided to make a Way Huge Red Llama.
I bought all the parts and soldered it all up, but then no sound! :O
After a bit of wiggling I managed to get a signal through, though severely weakened, and only when I move component in the right way.
I'm a bit of a novice I should mention to soldering, so I'm not sure if I burnt out some of the small caps with high heats?

I got an old TI-83 calculator with a busted screen, and I'm thinking off taking the z80, memory, and clock stuff and moving it all onto another PCB. Any advice as to how to do so without burning out either of those chips? Or would it be simpler just to mess with it while it's still attached to the calculator? Alright, the great unveiling of my ineptitude.

I have a hell of a time visualising the flow of current or understanding why stuff that's sent to ground actually does anything.

For example, look at any tubescreamer or rat schematic where the clipping diodes go to ground.
I know that it's clipping the signal and that's where we're getting the distortion from but how the hell does it get from there to the output? How are we hearing anything if it's going to ground?

This applies to anytime...
