I`ll check it with mine.
Do you have a picture from the other side of the pcb?

Hi Edj

There you go:

http://ppt.cc/l3Gw

The wiring is kinda complex on the jack and switch.

I can`t see it very well on your pictures but is there a wire going between the led and the resistor as on mine(orange wire)?

Edj, thank you so much for the help.

Yes, the orange line is going to the same spot but it is soldered at the back of the PCB. I notice there is a power supply - negative center version while yours and mine are positive center version.

It will help if you would like to show me how the switch and input/output jacks are wired.
:)

I`ll take mine apart tomorrow and make pictures of the switch and in/outputs.

Mine is wired as follows;

Input(from outside to inside of box)
1 black=to board under 15n cap
2 orange= to board,right next to black
3 green=to board,right nrxt to orange
blue=to C on switch

Output(from outside to inside of box)
1 black=to 2 on switch
2 yellow=to 4 on switch

Switch 1234
ABCD

1 orange=to middle of board,on the left next to LED
2 green=to 3 on 100k pot
black to output
3 black=to 2 on 100k pot
4 yellow=to output
yellow=to D on switch

A empty
B empty
C to Input
D to 4 on switch

Hope this helps.

greetings,Ed

Hi Ed,

Thank you so much for the kind help. My pedal comes back to life!

I love the sound of it.

Thank you again!

I reddrew schematic, the stomp switch contacts are shown now and create a copy of the PCB-Layout.

I own a DS-10, here the shot of the wiring:

I made mistake in writing it should be called.

I redrew the schematic, the stomp switch contacts are shown now and create a copy of the PCB-Layout.

Why it is the post not editable when it is submitted?

I bought a Proel DS10 Distortion pedal and it's not working, not sure if it is modded. I'll post some pictures can anyone be kind enough to show me some light?
Is the wiring of this pedal correct?

The Jack and Switch design seems to be complex. Does anyone know if this is a true bypass or buffer bypass or something?
Thank you.
We have gutshots, a schematic and original pcb layout
What more do you need?

Great job!Mine broke down actually.
2 pots had lifted off the board when i put it back together taking the copper traces with them.
Been too busy to make a new board so this comes in very handy.
Thank you very much!

Hi. Great work but, schematic doesn't match pcb, pins 6 and 7 not joined. I haven't read through complete posts but, just noticed it. Cheers.

The pins 6 and 7 are indeed not joined, the 3.9kOhms resistor is infixed between.
I could not belive in it firstly and checked the real circuit several times.
The pins 6 and 7 were seperated by a little cut, and both 3.9kOhms resistors are mounted on the soldering side.

The OP-amp stage keeps unity gain, but the stage output resistance is increased to about 2 kOhms.
Why Proel have done this, I can give no account of it?

One of the great things about the PROEL DS10 is not its ability as a Tone Driver (it is a great transparent driver*, not as a tonal pedal per se) but that it also does wonderful things like clean dirty signals or eliminate earth loop hum!

I just got a great deal on a Caline Snake Bite Reverb which is actually very good and adds some great harmonics onto your signal. My Cornford has no reverb and this actually brings it to life. The drive is more defined when a little wetter driving with the two speakers opposed in the room it sounds really HiFi

Downside unit is a bit hissy on or off. It is true bypass supposedly so it may be a modable component( ?) as the actual treated signal is luscious. I didn't try in on 9v Battery yet or swap cables about - that could reduce it. But for £27.74 is worth having as I wasn't looking for a Strymon, just a bit of Spring and Room reverb to give a little definition to the 3 amps I have unverb'd

ANYWAY!! - Two reasons to keep it on my board: 1.) You can get that authentic Shadows reverb sound with it! ie the sound on Apache - And 2.) when you place the reverb *before* the PROEL in the chain and dial down the 3x PROEL knobs to 9 o clock, then 75%+ of that hiss is eliminated and NO loss to the effect/tone! - I bloody love my PROEL pedal!

++

* Add your Proel to other OD and Dist pedals for some remarkable results - not just in tonality but the PROEL has the ability to tame any raucous gain and make it far more user friendly and employable. Extreme example below!

With the new information about pin 6 and 7 of the opamp not being connected, will the mod from Fuzzlab(quote; From what I see in the tracks pic, the circuit has been modded (maybe in the factory) with the two last 3K9 resistors. They put it in order to increment the gain a little (from gain =1 to gain= 2). But the output resistor 1K5 has not been modded and it remains connected wrongly to the pin 6 . It must be connected to pin 7. So, for a good boost to the level:
1. Change the 3K9 resistor connected to pin 7 for a 47 K.
2. Desolder or cut the jump that is connected between 1k5 and pin 6. (labeled P3 in the pic)
3. Make a jump between 1K5 and pin 7 (with a little cable in the track side)
4. Have fun.) still work?

I was just about to solder when i red the post about opamp's pin 6 and 7.
Thanks in advance!

thank you very much guys. I have repaired my pedal. (it hasnt battery compartiment, so opening/closing, the wires were without attach... and I dont knew how to put then...
I have modded it with the resistor and that... and now, Its range it`s superb. from clean to a great distortion, I can`t believe it. thank you so much.

There are a couple of things you should know about.
I retraced the the Layout and fixed some errors in the layout and in the schematic.
The Z-Diode type is ZPD 9.1, not ZPD 4.3 and acts as overvoltage protection.
The cathode is connected to the VS+ point, not to the +VR point.
Perhaps Proel made a design-failure, because there is a large voltage drop at the VS+ point due to the LED current.
The voltmeter read 8 Volts when the LED is off and drops down to 6 volts when the LED is on.
Proel_DS10-Schematic.JPG
The highlighted connection has to be omitted.

I ended up building a new one, using my old pcb and the layout here to make a new pcb.I only changed the 3k9 resistor to pin 7 for a 47 k.Much more output now and ik really like the sound of it.Tried a few different opamps but didn't hear much difference so put the original back in.Thanks very much for all the help!

I hook in a "BASS CONTENT" control to the circuit in the following manner.
Proel_DS10-Mod_Schematic.JPG
The roll-off frequency varies depending upon potentiometer value between ~700Hz and ~6000Hz.
Turning the pot clockwise decreases the roll-off frequency.
