The PS-006 has a MN3005 in it. I don't know for this one, there has to be some extra circuitry for delay time control, but they might rely on the same basis?
- Are you a mod or a rocker?

are those like "coarse" and "fine" controls for the time? very cool looking pedal- 80s techy! reminds me of a boom box I had as a kid.

If you look at component side ....there is empty space for resistor, and capacitor....I that is place to modify repeat feedback loop........original resistor is 39K....and that did not make any saturation, or selfoscilation.......I placed 10nF and 22K resistor in,and there you are......now it works perfectly....there is saturation even with max delay time
great pedal....if you compare schem with boss delay DM2 it is almost identical......2/3 resistors are different....and BBD here is MN3205.......I like it a lot
cheers

Hi there, I need some help here. I have the same pedal, but slide pots are broken, they just don't work
Can you help me, please? Maybe someone here know where can I find replacement for those pots.
I'll be posting guts later

HI there folks!
I Have one of these for repair..
Could anyone post some pics of the wiring?
Or somekind of schemtic for it?
Some guy destroyed this one, has all the wires broken or soldered to the wrong place...
I've followed the schematic, but just wanted to be shure its ok.
At the moment, it turns on, the green led lighst up, it just doenst have any delay effect.
Cheers

Hello
Thank you for the schematics.
There are 3 trimmers on the PCB : could anyone tell what do they do ?
I'm looking for longer delay times and/or more feedback (maybe up to self-resonance)...
I'm enjoying my PS014, but i find it a bit on the gentle side, and i rather prefer a more lofi sound but a greater funk factor
Thank you in advance

PVR2 sets the BBD bias (don't mess with it).
PVR3 sets the BBD's output signal symmetry (could be very lo-fi if badly tweaked)
And I think (or guess) that PVR1 sets the overall frequency for the CMOS oscillator that feeds the clock driver.
I would try to alter PVR1 to see if it changes the delay time?

Hi Borislav,
Where did you manage to find this schematic ?
Might you have seen one for the PS-021 Guitar Exciter which
I have posted in another thread, or even the PS-020 Bass Exciter ?
Apparently, Guyatone made a second bass exciter, PS-038 B II,
presumably a follow up to the PS-020.

I have been looking for the PS-021's circuit for ages. I managed to
download it some years ago, but had since lost it when my old computer
crashed, and can't find the original website again.
Guyatone's circuit diagrams, especially for the old PS series during the 80s,
are very hard to find.
The original designer, Tokyo Sound Co Ltd, has long closed down.
They made some really superb, innovative and underrated
effects pedals at that time.

I think they had far more skilful electronics engineers than Roland.
Thanks.
Hello Guys
First post here and i need some guidance, i'm an electronics amateur and guitarist and i have a problem with this pedal, hope you can help me because it looks to be very cool, anyway...
It's a present i got, a guy had it lying around and told me " here .. you play guitar right ?" The pedal does not work or better ..
I opened it up to do a visual inspection and noted that the output jack had just one wire going to it , I thought hey that must be ground, and after looking at the schematic it is... i just get a squeal, when i turn the "main" knob it changes a little bit,
here's a pic of what i've added. see attachment (the output jack is on the left ) the crcles represent the soldering i've added, they correspond to the correct rig/sleeve of the jack, just to be sure i checked cables and connectors all are working.
looking at the schematic i see there's a resistor in parallel with the output jack, (r17 upper right corner ) so what i 'm staring to think is :
a) I need to connect the ground somewhere else instead of bridging it
b) I'm missing a resistor ( a resistor mounted loose on the jack connection by these precise japanese guys ? unlikely )
so i have no clue, maybe the pedal is just broken, but the fact that there was a connection missing leads me to think that someone tried to repair it and forgot to link some pieces around
Can you guys help me in trying to understand what's wrong ? i can do basic soldering and identify components, but that's mostly it
thank You !!
