All about modern commercial stompbox circuits from Electro Harmonix over MXR, Boss and Ibanez into the nineties.

The great "I'd like to see the guts of" thread

Postby Dirk_Hendrik » 13 Mar 2008, 20:45

Maybe a little optimistic in the title since this thread might drop down in days but I'm going to make it a thread anyway.

We're here with a lot of members who, toghether, own a lot of stomps. Ocasionally threads come by whoch state something like "is anyone interested in guts of ..." In some cases these are threads where I personally think "who cares" since I've seen that box x times already.... but who am I? I'm only human. What I may consider normal might be a first time for someone else.
Let's streamline the requests a little and aim for maximum profit.

So, do you have a wishlist of boxes you like to see from the inside?

Other than that, are you the one able to supply pics asked. And, are you able and willing to make those pics in such a manner that someone else is able to draw up a schematic from those pics, alo meaning to answer additional questions on unrecognizable components/ component values at al later stage?

Therefore,l let's set up a standard that anyone can use in order to get as much info out of the initial pictures, e.g. sharp photo's, trace side as well as component side, in the case of multiple boards photo's of both boards, full component numbering when unable to identify yourself.

Also, reluctant of disassembling your pedal in fear of breaking something? There's a lot of experience here. Let us guide you ;)

As well, be patient, we all have aour daily chores to attend. It might take a couple a days.

So, you want pics from me? Take a look at the vintage section of my site and make your requests. All stuff there is in my posession.

As for me:
I'm interested in the Ibanez TC999 tube compressor and good shote of the big Maxon analog delays like the AD900
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

Which carlsbro. I know that someone on the german musikding had the schematic for the ADT mailed some 2 years ago from Carlsbro.

for the others.... you'll get em.. In the case of that UMI I'll have to dg into that again. I've traced that circuit years ago and last time I looked that schematic did not even look "plausible".

I've prob got around 200 pedals here and at various places. Lotsa vintage, some weird ones, lots of more normal ones and several 'bootweek' ones. I'm more than happy to post gutshots of anything, some of the vintage ones really arent happy at being taken apart. I am very very busy at my day job and sometimes can take ages to get things done but I will get there eventually!

Picked up this one earlier (PRO FX Phaser Pedal from 1979/1980), non-working, will post guts when it arrives:

I'll also get the guts up for this weird one:

You won't need gutshots for that one. Just look at the schematic:

I recommend here:
http://list5.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/20 ... egory.html
even if you can't read any Japanese, this is the page to search for effects pedals on Yahoo! Auction (the eBay alternative we have over here)
Many many pedals have gutshots.

Non-bootweak pedals are super cheap over here too. For example the Tokai TCO-1:
http://page18.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/w19416952
Yours for equivalent $30

I've had a non-working one of those for a while. Its just the slider switch, I remember the circuit sounding nice.

And a great pic it is... but, other than the "no trace side" lacks the opportunity to ask addition questions on the non-recognizable component values.

Hi Dirk-Hendrik,

I have a request for the innards of the Carlsbro ADT pedal.

Could it be cloned , considering the parts ?

And do you have the schem ?
