All about modern commercial stompbox circuits from Electro Harmonix over MXR, Boss and Ibanez into the nineties.

Looks like someone has been studying the schems at ROG :D

The designs look like some of the DIY designs that someone did with etching a few years ago....

I think it's unlikely that theyre using jfets as simulators, They've already built the "models" of those amps a long time ago, in the sansamp (classic, gt2, etc)...more than likely a op amp based pedal that uses a similar tone stack to the amp it's imitating.

Externally they remind me of the OLC pedals (which are ROG's of course), but it's hard to say that they copied the idea..I've seen quite a few people do the same type finish without necessarily having seen it being done before. When simulating an amp, designing the pedal to "look" like the amp is a logical thing to do.

On another note, how's life Brian ?

Doing well, thanks! hope you are doing well too.

Since I'm taking a mild beating on the 'other' forum, I'll just point out for the record that I wasn't insinuating that tech 21 stole anything or copied circuits or anything. just pointing out similarities to the diy world.

Im sure they(commerical pedal manufacturers) are/have lurked on many forums for new ideas or product developments.
