Hi!

I recently acquired this effect and thought I'd upload some gutshots of it. There were some previous discussion and, now unavailable, pictures in the Zoom Ultra Fuzz thread. There's also a schematic for this floating around on a website (which I for some reason cannot seem to find at the moment).

Anyway,

Here you go: https://postimg.org/gallery/1czio7xfw/

It's an interesting pedal.

I do not know if this scheme is correct.

Yes, that's the one.

It looks like a partial schematic. Some parts are missing. For example the power section, D7 doesn't go anywhere in schematic, R23 is mentioned twice. On the whole I think it looks OK though. I'll try compiling a parts list just to double check against the schematic.

I've now double checked parts against the schematic and it matches mine exactly. The only thing that's wrong in the schematic is, like I mentioned before, that R23 is mentioned twice. The R23 that's connected to C4 should be R24. The value 100K is correct though.

Other than that, there's a few parts that's omitted. Namely the switching and the power supply. As far as I can see. I haven't checked the tracing more than briefly but I think it's probably OK.

Here's my list of components.

Underlined components are not in the schematic above.

Capacitors
Those not mentioned are SMD:s, or omitted on the board.

C1: 1uf
C2: 10nf
C3: 10uf
C4: 0,47uf
C7: 10uf
C8: 10uf
C11: 220uf
C12: 270nf
C13: 47nf
C19: 150nf
C20: 10uf
C23: 10uf
C24: 470uf
C26: 220uf
C29: 0,47uf
C31: 10uf
C32: 220uf
C33: 22uf
C34: 10nf
C35: 10nf
C36: 22nf
C37: 0,1 uf
C41: 100uf
C43: 0,47 uf

IC:s

IC1, IC2, IC3, IC5, IC9: JRC4558
IC4: JRC2352

Transistors
These are a bit tricky. I'm not familiar with SMD-codes on transistors, and google gave me some inconclusive results. This is what I could read on them:

Q1: LY
Q2-Q3 (not on the board)
Q4: JY
Q5: BX

Diodes

D1, D2, D3, D5, D6, D7, D9: Unknown
D4: Probably 1N4xxx-type
D8: Not on the board.

Resistors

R1: 560R
R2: 1,8k
R3: 100K
R4: 13K
R5: 4,7K
R6: 5,6K
R7: 470K
R8: 390k
R9: 10k

R10: 22K
R11: 10K

R13: 22K
R15: 1K
R16: 1K
R17: 330R
R18: 3,3K
R19: 1K

R20: 1K
R21: 16K
R22: 820R
R23: 100K

R40: 47K
R41: 51K
R42 - R45: (not on the board)
R46: 22K
R47: 100K

It dawned on me that the Zoom Ultra Fuzz, which is traced already, naturally has some parts in common with this. I also happen to own that pedal. The switching uses the same parts as far as I can see for example. I'll do some comparisons and see what I can come up with.

I have a bad unit that needs to replace the Q5. But I don't the Q5 part name. Anyone could help?
