Ibanez - FL-99 Classic Flange  [schematic]

Postby Dirk_Hendrik » 18 Oct 2008, 15:21

Please don't resist the urge to place comments in case you do (or don't) like.

The FL99 that is, another one from the Neo-classics:

Which one is that? That's what we're going to generate some traffic to Bart's place for:

That one.
So there's a schematic? Yes there is now. Kudo's for those who dare to think about cloning this one. That BBD is going to be close to impossible to find. First time I saw one anyways.

yeah, schematic time:

I just hope you didn't trace it in the pub... certainly doesn't look like it
Truly overwhelming, but no MN3210s in your stash even?

As said, first time I saw one. Tried a google search this aftermoon but quit at page 15. Datasheet to be found, orient suppliers to be found... but I tend not to trust those listings.

Actually I was quite amazed. Based on the experience with the (unfinished, SWT?? ) classic Phase, the RC99 and the AD99 I expected that 14 pin chip to be a xx571 compander when I took off the bottom plate. Never expected to find a rarer than rare chip.

On the subject of rare a question posted by Mark Hammer which is still very valid. Datasheets for the MN33xx series of BBD's exist. Has anyone ever seen one in real life??

Thanks for the schem Dirk! I have one of these, I like it a lot. It's really intense sounding w/a really deep flange-

Ibanez FL99 Internal Images

Postby russellw » 16 Nov 2008, 06:37

If someone has this pedal, would you please send some photo's of the internals? My email address is russell-w@pacbell.net. I thank you in advance.
I just purchased one on Ebay and it appears to have a circuit board modification and a switch replace. I just want to confirm.

but, reconsidering,

If you think that replace is becasue it contains 2 different switches and one cut trace.. that's normal.

Thank you Dirk, that is exactly what I see. Good to know it is normal. I sent you a email from your website on a different subject.
