Not that I know of. But that could be an awful challenge! How about you make us one? :thumbsup

It's out there. Search around on diystompboxes. There's a "through zero" mod for it as well.

Prepare to do a hell of a lot of work...

it´s here: http://topopiccione.atspace.com/PJ18BossDC2.html

and i already built it. it´s quite some work, but the result is nice. there are a few issues, though.
the fet switching was removed in that layout and a switch was added instead to choose between mono/stereo operation. i pointed out in a thread at diy that something with the two stereo channels is not right at the end, around the compander. it seems nobody was interested, until another kind soul built it and ran into the same troubles (not really troubles, let´s say concerns) as me.
here is a great thread where everything came together
https://www.diystompboxes.com/smfforum/ ... ic=72631.0
with a nice chime in by jfromel at the end; i haven´t tried his suggestions yet, but now that this got me started again, i´m gonna take her out of the drawer tomorrow:
morocotopo drew a nice, ammended schematic with different colors and such, which can be found in that thread.
funny thing is, because i can´t decide on the bypass scheme, it is still not boxed up...
i think that the original fet switching bypass is cool, because it automatically switches to stereo operation when a second cable is plugged in, it kinda stinks to have to work a switch instead...plus, the only solution as it is now would be a millenium bypass with a 3pdt, or a 4pdt.

wow, what a rant ! :horsey:

cheers,
lohstah

that would be a great challenge. but im too lazy at the moment.

i forgot the toppicione layout. ... awesome.

and the tzf thing sounds promising, although I would go ahead with it if i could hear a soundclip of it in tzf action.

thanks guys.

the topopiccione layout doesn´t incorporate any tzf mods.
this is a link to scott stite´s site where he describes in detail how to mod a dc-2 for tzf, along with a lot of other mods, like stereo input, extra input buffers to handle very loud signals, and some other stuff.
http://mypeoplepc.com/members/scottnoan ... h/id9.html
oh, and btw, there are soundsamples of the dc-2 in tzf action on that site.

cheers,
lohstah

or does anyone know where the boss dc-2 service manual can be purchased? Also, is there any information dedicated to building modulation/time based effects? starter diy information is always limited to fuzzes, boosters and gain boxes which is great but I've always been more interested in designing effects outside of that realm. Yes I know they are more difficult and need for more equipment, but for me and the ideas I want to play with they mostly lay with modulation and time based effects.

Thanks,

puppiesonacid

I would be very interested too in the DC-2 service manual, or at least the part of it that holds the partslayout.
I already succesfully copied the original pc-boards of the Boss CE-2 and DM-2 and I am now looking at a good photo of the DC-2's PCB begging to be reproduced.

what exactly will be the benefits for you in getting the service manual ?
the schematic is out there, and at least one layout. at least two people have made their own layouts, i´m sure if you ask them, they will send them to you...and for the little bit of calibration that is required in this circuit, you don´t need no manual. just two bias trimmers for the bbd chips.

cheers,
lohstah

oh, if you guys want to see how the original looks, i will upload photos today when i get to my other computer. i have the trace side for sure, and probably also the component side (i compared an original that one of my friends owns very carefully with the topopiccione layout when i was checking about the second ne570 and it´s surroundings).

cheers,
lohstah

The picture of the DC-2 copperside I have is pretty good except for some flash reflections, so if you could make one without flash and from a straight angle with good resolution, that would be very helpfull
