The switch problem seems to be a more logical answer now since signal is being passed through the pedal, its just not screaming!!
Does anyone know what kind of switch the micro switch is? or would a regular stomp box switch work if i mounted it through the top?

This could be your chance to go from electronic switching to true bypass 3pdt , although it
maybe wise to determine the problem first , I say try cleaning the switch as an easy step
the switch part itself is not expensive , local music store repair dept may have it .

Let em know if you want anymore pix before I put it back together , regards Greg

switched out the switch. Works like a charm. Thanks for the help man, got a key component of my signal flow back. now i gotta fabricate some new way to secure the spring, ehhhh.

GodSaveMetal, if you need a unmodified PCB pic, i might be able to help

so i built a ts9dx based on tagboard effects layout
http://tagboardeffects.blogspot.fi/2013 ... eamer.html
the only problem is that when in the turbo mode and the drive is up passed half way it turns into a slow kind of tremolo. like the sound kicks in and out. would anyone have any idea why this could happen? too much gain hitting the opamp? someone else had the same problem so i know its not a build error. the other modes work fine so im pretty sure its not a layout problem.
does anyone have an explanation?

I've also got one; quite pleased with it.

My IC is a JRC4558; no mods have been done to this unit

Just for the sake of amusement, I built something similar to this, but with a 4066 to select the type of clipping, and a couple of gyrators for the tone controls. I was pleasantly surprised by the results. The IC line-up is a 4558 for the clipper part, a TL074 for the input and output buffers and the two gyrators, two 4066s - one for bypass and the other for clipping selection and a 4013 for the bypass on / off. It's a neat, small PCB, and appears to be mostly full of ICs! All the controls are 500k and 50k linear with tapering resistors where required.

I suppose I should put it in an expensive box, thoroughly goop it, and sell it at some exorbitant price as the "ultimate" boutique device! The boobs at TGP will fall over themselves praising what is - essentially - just another Tube Screamer!

It's in my notebook. I'll scan it and post it later today.

I've made a good photos of TS9DX and wrote caps and transistors values.
Also I've combined two sides of PCB for easier tracing.

Read the thread...
You'll find the schematics and links to different layouts.
