Hi everyone,
This is my first post, so I would also like to say hello!
I'm new here, but not new to building things. Here are some of the pedals I have built with sound samples.
http://www.saemskin.com/Pedals/pedals.htm I need to update that page with all this stuff...
I have also built some rack gear, like the Gyraf G9 tube mic pre
the Gyraf G9 buss compressor
I'm partway through building an Mnates 2-1176
I just finished wiring up a Calrec EQ, and I'm about 2 hours away from finishing my Soundlabs Minisynth
I could keep going because I have several project in various stages of completion, Great River MP2, Neve 1073, Sontec Mastering EQ and 4 channels of supergreen pre's.
So, apart from being proud of these things, I wanted to give you an idea of the good things I hope to accomplish with whatever information we discuss here, that it's not going to go to waste.
Moving on:
I have an abundance of JRC4558 Chips that I bought. So I have decided to make a handful of Tube Screamers for my brother and some friends, BUT as I stated in the thread title, I really want to juice it up a bit. Make it fun, you know. I'm calling them the SAEMSCREAMER, see my name for the why.
So, has anyone here ever integrated a feedback loop into a distortion pedal? If so, do you have any drawings or schematics, or even an explanation for how to implement it?
I emailed analog man a few times, and we were discussing pedal deisgns, and we glazed over how cool looking the joysticks on the Devi Ever pedals, and I actually found a supplier for these. So SIMPLE! They are a 2-way pot, that's IT. Amazing in it's simplicity, I would really like to try and implement the feedback loop into the joystick and have it control feedback & tone, or feedbak & distotion.
Any ideas you may have will be warmly received.
Thanks,
Josh

some excellent builds there! by feedback do you mean looping the output back into the pedal for more distortion? if so great idea! i havnt seen these pedals with the joystick but i have seen a potentiometer from a joystick and they work on the same principle. i attached an image of a simple pot lug mapping you have most likely already thought of but still it helps to get on the same wavelength!
