Hi!
I modded my DS-1 following the instructions available here: http://www.instructables.com/id/Modify-Your-Boss-DS-1/
All seems to work fine but the distortion knob causes some issues.
It does what it's supposed to do as long as you don't krank it higher than 2 o'clock.
After that it works like some kind of threshold and attenuates lower signal passing through only stronger signal.
With lower signals it just farts. :)

Anybody encountered this issue? Any ideas how to make it work fine through the whole range?

Thanks!

I checked everything again and found the source of my issue.
I used tantalum caps having no idea that they have polarization! Once I changed them to classic caps everything works fine!

cheers!
