To anyone out there who is familiar with the circuit, of which I know there is no short supply, how could I add just a little more high end to a ts 9? I read somewhere that decreasing one of the caps on the tone stack could let more highs in, but is this a good idea and which cap should be changed to what value? Thank you in advance

Try playing with the 1k in the feedback loop of the second Opamp - increase it or replace it with a 10k pot.

There is a mod by Bryan Wrampler that changes the classic tone control to something closer to the rat tone control, I tried it in my breadboard and It sounded ok.

Looking at Photo 13 on page 5 of the Premier Guitar DIY article that Eddie T linked, the fastest way to add more treble is to replace C5 (.22uF Tant) with a .1 or .12 value capacitor. Poly, MKT or box types will work fine.

Or do the conversion of the Tone control from active to passive by following the instructions on that page. You will need to replace the 20k TS-9 tone pot with a 1K Log pot to do the Wampler passive tone mod.

Change NP electro can type capacitor C5 to a lower value to raise the corner frequency of the LP filter - lets more highs through.

Sorry, my previous diagram is wrong. On this board C5 is actually the 0.22 yellow tantalum capacitor with the yellow circle. It can be replaced with a smaller value electro or a film type if you can squeeze in in there.
