To all FSB members and readers

Photobucket are in the process of changing the terms and conditions for users and are to start charging for hosting.

I don't know the exact details (I don't have a PB account) but anyone with a PB account should take copies of all of their photos before they disappear (unless they are prepared to pay for hosting).

The Vero layouts posted by user ShortScaleMike have already gone, no doubt many others will follow.

Thanks so much for this notice, I'll sticky it. All the moderators have gone, the forum is doing fine, because it self regulates to an extent.
Thanks Fred, for the heads up. There isn't much more one can do, and this notice is never read by all concerned. During the last few months all I've done is gone through threads, renamed them consistently and uploaded linked images.

I see so many uploading 10+ 2MB pictures of there builds as attachments... those have no value to the website in the long run. Then again, seminal, long sought after guts shots are linked to photobucket. please attach these to the forum, so they do not get lost.

Yes, the freestompboxes community is now in its 10th year.
It has happened that gut shots uploaded early on lead to tracings years later.

What's wrong with the attachment function? If the pictures are relevant to the discussion; upload them.
Please look into the resizing and resolution, there is no need for 1MB gutshots. But I still set the the limit that high because otherwise people would not upload at all...

Scanning through the forum looking for dead links, I sort of cam to the conclusion that for a lot of members the attachment function is not visible... it is here:
You can even put a caption under the picture.
You can even put a caption under the picture.
With any post you can add 20 attachments -- this could be a variety of different file types, even audio files are ok now.

I should do an announcement... but still this will only reach a small portion of the users.
thanks for that question
