no reserve means "you can bid an insane amount without a problem at all"
$420 12hrs before the auction ends... why does anybody sell their pedal on tgp?

"no reserve" means in ebay-US that there is no lower limit set by the seller which must be reached to get the deal.

Example:
starting price: $ 1,--
reserve: $ 500,--
your bid: $ 100,--

result: ebay-message "reserve not met"
Even if you are highest bidder with $ 100,-- you won´t win the auction because the minimum amount the seller wants to obtain (= "reserve") has not been reached.

therefore "no reserve" only means that this lower limit has not been set by the seller and you can win the auction even with $ 100,--.

I knoew this is bullshitting people because the real starting price is $ 500,--, but some sellers beleive they will get more interest and success with there auction.

Hannibal Lecter:
"You start to desire only what you see."

BTW. I never bid on "reserve-auctions" except in the beginning, with a save amount - to increase the starting value.

The new Mad Professor Sky Blue OD is pretty much the same thing.

Is it ?
Can you post a reference ?

The Baby Blue was out of production for several years before the Sky Blue came about, and according to BJ it couldn't be made anymore due to the unavailability of essential parts needed to build it.

I don't know about the circuits - I was talking about the sound and response of the effect, from a musician's point of view, they seemed very close. I used to own the BBOD and I've tried the newer one, it pretty much covers the same tonalities.although the Sky Blue has more output and more tweakability. The reason I sold my BBOD was it did not have enough output/headroom for me I'm pretty sure the BBOD was the inspiration for the SBOD, but we can ask Bjorn, (if he ever visits again).

Resurrecting this thread, did anyone ever trace one of these out? I have one but would like to try and avoid destroying it by de-gooping it, any suggestions as to the best way to go about it? Thanks.

I don't believe so, but I see they've been re-released.
All the BJF overdrives have been a similar RAT based circuit with re-voicing to go with the different names and I'm betting this would be no different.

I don't know whether BJF Baby Blue OD is the same with Mad Professor Sky Blue, as stated before.

There's a Sky Blue thread at FSB:
