Be careful,, they are likely re-badged fakes.
Take a close look at the printing,, some are sitting high on the chip and some low.
The bright stipple finish is also a give away,, Unlikely to be the real thing.

I add photos in very good resolution.

I really do not know where the idea is that the label is painted. Look at other auctions with such OPAMP and you will see that the labels were not evenly painted.

I really do not know why you are doing this, your suspicions are unfounded.
I am 100% sure that these are the original OPAMP, I pulled them out myself from the mixer fender from 1978 !!! Nothing has ever been touched.

In addition, I can explain some OPAMP signs from this period.
In the left corner are vertically 3 digits.
If you have 0 in the first row - it means year 80
8 and 9 mean by analogy 1978 or 1979.
The same designations are in the effects of the MXR phase from 1979 with the number 9 and in the later 1980, 1981 ...

Mixer Fender had serial number # 16 and was produced from 1978. On my OPAMP there is a number 8 which means 1978. The rest of the capacitors in the mixer is also from 1878.

I apologize for my English, I use translate.
Greetings.

I do not intend to cheat anyone, or to make a great secret out of it, where you can find such integrated circuits.
That's why I'll explain to everyone where you can find up to 12 OPAMPs.
Mixer Fender MA6 from 1978.

I saw that sometimes you can buy such a mixer for 40 $ in Europe on eBay.

I got my mixer for free. ;)

I'm going now to open mixer again, I'll take pictures for you, see what nice parts you can get from such a mixer, I left one more chip originally soldered in the mixer, because it was soldered to the top layer of tracks. Maybe after that you will believe that OPAMP are real and despite appearances they are not so hard to find! You just have to look for Japanese equipment from this period, I saw once the same OPAMP in the Sharp amplifier.

This U3 is also original, I left it because there are no Malaysia label. I changed the chips on JRC4558D from the old Yamaha organ or for the new RC4558p TI..

So Mr. Phatt.
If I was so gifted counterfeiter to solder OPAMP so that it looks like solder from the 80's and choose the same paint and font, then it would not be a problem for me careful painting or sharp edges of OPAMP.

if someone needs something from this console, I will have it for three more days. I sold it in such condition as you see for $ 30 in damaged condition, for parts.

I'm sorry again for my English

Take it easy Keven. You make a good point and provide very good info on the source of your opamps. Thank you for that. Meanwhile, allow me to jump in the conclusion that your low postcount, combined with your registration date, means you are quite fresh on this forum. In the past we have discussed extensive amounts of counterfeited parts here. While Phatt may have been too quick with his conclusion I am afraid I and many others would have made the consideration with someone that almost seems to have signed up here to sell his wares.

After that, while it cannot be used as a verdict, I found that the counterfeit boys tend to rely a wee bit too much on their sandpaper and their laser engraver recently. Especially old parts like this are very unlikely to have a laser engraved Partno. I am however, completely familiar with the shitty positioning of the printing on older TI parts. I wonder if this was common for all facilities TI had at the time or limited to one of them only. I should investigate.
Sorry. Plain out of planes.

Postby keven204 » 02 Mar 2019, 12:47

I don't know. I used these forums as well as thousands of others to obtain information.

Mr. Phatt is something like a "master transistor" in this forum, so he must apologize to me. I do not know if anyone has ever talked about how to get such OPAMP on this forum.
He probably never had them in his hands !! It's a little sick! He never see original MALAYSIA OPAMP and accuse someone of FRAUD!
It's like you've never seen a Mercedes and said your neighbor has a fake ...

Besides, I also consider numerous fakes like NKT275 transistors ...
But without exaggeration ... If anyone could perfectly counterfeit, it would not be counterfeited by OPAMP just money or documents or something like this !!!

It is sad, he sells these OPAMP not because of the money!
Sometimes I just miss a good word from the buyer saying "Hey! Thanks, I just put it to my Reissue next to the real ts-808 from 1981 and they sound that same! In the end, my thrill is gone!" Now I sell it what they need. If the auction ends, I will not show it again. I will keep them for myself and sell them in 10 years, or i will use it to the other circuit...

I also wrote about my bulb measurements from Shin-Ei Univibe in this forum ... I could tell you exactly what photocells are. From what British radios can you take transformer to the hendrix OCTAVIO effect ...

BUT... I see that people here are the same as in Poland :)
In Poland, I just could not sell this OPAMP! People write to insult me ... That it's too expensive.... that I'm ridiculous.... that the same opamp on the internet is $ 1 ...

To tell the truth, I see in front of my eyes how the musical knowledge of these years dies with generations ...

It's a sick man ... There's really a handful of people in this world who know what's going on, and this handful of people have an average age of about 65 years...

Another curiosity about the letters above "RC4558P"
"A" "AC" "AB" "AEB" "AED" - this is probably gain.
I did not check in TS-808, but I checked different OPAMP in the buffer and I did not notice any differences.

I also checked difference in the DAC buffer.
I have checked various OPAMP.

But this OPAMP is completely different from everyone! There isn't much treble like most OPAMP! Clearly it has more middle range.
Very warm and pleasant sound at different volume levels!

Greetings...

Well if you had of said that FIRST as well as shown pics of the fender mixer then it would have come across as a more genuine posting and
I would have answered in a different way.

As * Dirk_Hendrik * has tried to point out to you ,, you are relatively new here and it just looks like someone trying to make a quick buck.

It is common knowledge that there are a lot of rebadged chips floating around.
I simply stated the obvious to a posting that looked suspect with little info to validate the claim.
I'm sorry if that offended you.
kind regards, Phil.

Fine. Appearances are deceptive. Initially, I didn't want to show where the OPAMPs come from. No one has ever shown me anything, on the contrary, so I don't feel debt to humanity :).

I'm too nervous lately. I am also sorry for my behavior.

It's not a debt to humanity it's showing that your chips are genuine, something that is important with so many fakes on the market.

Chill a little, the attitude makes you look like a 14 y.o. (or maybe you are 14 in which case carry on  )

Debt to humanity - I meant that I don't intend to teach anyone where that OPAMP can be found, but you accuse me of cheating...

Instead of asking politely if I have more photos or a question where do I get them etc...
You have a grudge that I have not shown everything from the beginning!
I hope I will not have to cut this OPAMP and show you it inside to increase authenticity ...

I have said so much about the unique OPAMP RC4558P Malaysia from 1978 and you claim that I am 14 years old.

Age is not proportional to intelligence or knowledge, unfortunately I have to upset you, but no ... I'm not 14 ...

I am writing for those interested, for those who have been looking for a very long time of this OPAMP, just like me!

Rest of people, please! - Leave me alone!!
