Yes, it does seem like one of those laws that was passed so someone could start a business based around enforcing it.

Lol, when I emailed them about schematics plus questions about what could be wrong with my amp (the clean channel pot doesn't alter the volume, it just cuts it in and out at full volume, probably the pot, but I wanted to double check). They emailed me a PDF where they explained that they don't have time for that kind of support (with a reference to Marshall who according to them neither offers that kind of support) and an other pdf on how to resting my guitar. :/
