You should be able to use a 50k log pot as a replacement with no trouble......

I've got an old 50k but it's linear - would it make much difference in this application?
I bought the pedal thinking I'd got a decent deal on ebay but it was DOA despite being listed as working. Discovered with some movement of the Attack pot that there was some fuzz left in the old girl but only in certain positions and in others, a mad saturated distortion with horrid high pitched oscillation. I'm hoping it's just the pot.
Embarrassing confession: it took me a longer time than I care to mention to realise that the inbuilt cable goes to the guitar and not the amp! I had presumed it would go to the amp so that a longer cable could go to the guitar affording the user greater liberty of movement. I guess in the mid 60s guitarists were yet to run about on stage...
