I plan on doing some mods to a Boss SD-1 Super Overdrive soon, including getting it closer to the sound of the OD-1 Overdrive. 1S2473 Diodes might be a nice touch, but they are rather hard to find and quite expensive here in Europe.

Meanwhile, there are plenty of sellers from China offering them on eBay for peanuts. One is even selling them by the 100 for less than what it costs to buy two from a reputable shop in the UK ! Is this too good to be true ?

I might take a small gamble then and order some from China when I need them. In case these don't perform as hoped, does anybody know a good alternative ?
Getting similar forward voltage going on shouldn't be that hard, but I keep hearing about this "soft knee" that the 1S2437 has.
Attached is the Datasheet.
