Supplier for Germanium transistors ?

I want to build up a couple of tone bender type pedals and need some germs for these,
any current good recommendations ?

I'd like to avoid small bear as I despise their shipping model where the cost goes up in relation to the value of your order,
not the size or weight [ and they never seem to have all items I need in stock at the same time ] , tia for ideas!

Really!? I cannot remember them doing that.
And I have to admit that it sounds like the most bizarre model one can imagine. Incredibly bad for business. Thanks for the heads up though!

there are weight amounts next to the parts, so perhaps this is skewed where some parts have higher or inaccurate values ?
I dunno for me, it just doesn't work out to be a good deal any time I look there. [ before I know it, a padded bag of parts is 100 bux ! ]

I’d say shoot Steve at Smallbear an email asking about shipping rates.
Their Tone Bender sets are excellent and will save you a lot of time and headache sorting and auditioning unsorted germaniums. It is very easy nowadays to buy a lot of GE’s and not have any hit the gain markers for your build.

I'd stay clear from that german seller.
I have yet to find a single useable transistor out of the dozens of different trannies I bought from him.

I've had MUCH better results with russian transistors on eBay. Check for the MP series (MP40 is a better ac128)

Eventually I'd suggest buying from real online dealers like smallbear, pedalparts, musikding, ...
Might cost a bit more but way less hassle

forgot about musikding it's a pretty good site and they even have some of the exact number Germaniums I'm looking for , thanks
guitarpedalparts has some good [ and not great ] prices on things, limited selection and no Germaniums
