is the dod 440 just a copy of the mxr?

The MXR used "switched capacitor" technology, while the DOD 440 was much simpler with a Dual LDR, as you can see here in the:

I saw a gutshot of Emma's Discumbobulator, (i dont remenber where) but i remember that it was pretty similar to this.
Could it be a clone wiyh some tweaks?

The Emma is a clone with input and output transistors. I think in mine I used 2n222 and .02 input / output caps. Biased for no gain.
