Okay, so I am determined to pcb this thingy.
Should the freeware version of eagle suffice?

I don't know the limitations of Eagle, but maybe you could split the PCBs up into 3 - 2 as per the original, plus a third for the power supply (and have the other two PCBs simply designed to 'assume' there is +/-12V and ground available)?
I've been looking at doing a layout for this one myself, as I'd like to have the pedal to use on bass.

Now you got me thinking!
Instead of the internal transformer..maybe a 78 and 7915? This could reduce it down to 2 pcb's perhaps.
I am more than willing to collaborate in doing the pcb as I'll be re-learning eaglecad for this.
Now, if we could find out who makes the origional musitronics chassis, we could really make some killer shizzle.
We'll have to give this project an official 'fsb' name:
Badunkadunk?
Booty in da trunk?
Miss Big Fat Booty?

I think this is better personally as it makes the project much safer - people can just use an external AC plugpack, then this:chicago_mike wrote:Instead of the internal transformer..maybe a 78 and 7915?

... to give the +/- voltage.
I have a layout for this circuit that is a little less than 1.5" in each dimension; it actually is using the 15V equivalents of the regulators at the moment, but can easily be changed to provide +/-12V, just use the 12V regulators and then also a lower input AC input voltage. Gimme a little time and I can find it and put it up here, might be useful to people outside of this project anyway.

Looking forward to it.
I am still looking for amutron flanger schematic as I now have a morley volume pan pedal to sacrifice for such a deed.

I got some 78 and 7912's, so Im going to eaglecad up something today. Ill post it here and if anybody would want to verify and all that, feel free.
Im also going to do a trace elliot smx dual compressor pedal, but I might the preshape option.
Perhaps baja would be interested in such items too?

By chance, has anyone created the pcbs/parts list for this yet? What a terrific DIY project!

There is apdf for it, but no verified pcb yet.
Im working on this and the ebs octabass , trying to see if I can put them together somehow. But my skills might be too meager for said task....but I will give it my best.

Had some free time to dig up the work I did on this guy a couple years back, or so... I don't remember. Hey - if I haven't needed it since then, how bad do I really need it? Can't-have-enough-pedals-syndrome?
4 images, layout done with CadSTD, as that's what I'm used to using, and it's pretty ol-skool style, kinda like running tape tracks on a PCB, but using a mouse. I think I have an excel file somewhere with Mouser parts referencing the schematic, but it wasn't in the folder I had, so maybe it's gone... anyhow, thought I'd get finishing on the layout.
I haven't been schooled in PCB design, this is just my puzzle-solving skills at work. I don't like how the logic section pcb has the 3 wire jumpers to connect the V-, but I had essentially painted myself into a corner with those connections. Also, I don't think I made a clear designator for GND on the logic section, even if there are a couple pads to tie into. A handful of wires connects the boards together, and to the switches/pots. Don't know how well it will work, but the connections are there. I used the service manual schematics as a reference.
I think it would be really cool to make a dual sided SMD pcb, maybe using a prototype company to burn the boards. Another project in itself. Might be a bit easier... don't have to worry about crisscrossing jumpers/wires.
Oh yeah, I marked (A) and (B) as connection points. (A) references J4-10/P4-10, while (B) is for J4-9/P4-9. It was easier for me to think of them as bus connected, and not physical connectors.
No power supply shown. I have not worked on that. If I couldn't get the audio/logic done, what use was a power supply?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
DUDE!!!!!!
Okay if you look when you reply, you can literally just add the image, you dont have to hyperlink it. You can upload it right from your desktop.
Do you have layouts without the jumpers?

You mean, just the pcb traces, no extra mojo?Do you have layouts without the jumpers?
If so, I can have. It might be a good idea to look it over, make sure I haven't missed anything.

edit: I also have some non-schematic references besides the (A) and (B) bits. The connections for the pots are marked T for tone and MIX.

Found the excel file I made - I haven't looked it over. Has 1 year old Mouser part numbers for the caps... they may still be valid. Check them out and adjust, add the rest of the parts. Let's share the burden to get this thing done, and start making whompin' sounds.

Ill start checking the values tomorrow morning. If its only been a year hopefully not much has changed.
