I've seen it. The seller is wrong about the date of production. I see no inductor date code clearly, but i doubt Marshall build 4500 more units after yours in 69 ;) Check the S/N

I think the second number is 3, that makes it past 1973

Chugs, change the bjt polarity on your schematic. Guys don't you think this pedal will have lower range with bjt current 150 gain then MPSA18 with gain 800?

Hi !
I have Supa Wah Marshall on the desk for repair . Owner- blues player says tone is not the same as on the records before . Pot years ago was changed.I have checked the pot - is CRY BABY POT with 170 k. I think original pot was 100k lin.? Transistors are Germanium, one jack and switch was also replaced.Yelow caps are ARCO ? I think mustards must be there ?
Any help is welcome ,Thanks

Hi, not sure if this is appropriate to post here, I was comparing it to a Marshall supa wah but I don’t think that’s what it is. This was sent to me for repair by a customer, looking at it I don’t think it’s been opened up before - still got the old battery connector.

Anyway, what is confusing me about this is that the whole board is sealed with epoxy. I’m not talking about the klon style black goop, this is a solid epoxy block. Ouch.

Does anyone have any clue what this is as it doesn’t have the supa wah logo on, I’m pretty stumped.

The pedal you have is Marshall’s Wah Wah, often referred to simply as Wah Wah. It was made before all the Supa Wahs so is pre 1969. It has 4 rubber feet (unlike Supa Wah which has black ribbed rubber matting over entire base). I have a very early s/n Supa Wah with it’s pcb missin. I know my pedal didn’t have the normal Supa Wah circuit due to the mounting screw positions, & have been told it may have the Wah Wah circuit. Please advise the distance between the 2 screws holding in your pcb, & how far up from the bottom of the case these are. I know the differences between the two circuits and can assist. Miles

I said in my previous post “I know the differences between the two circuits (referring to Marshall Wha Wha & Marshall Supa Wah).
I can do this with confidence as I have circuit diagrams for both.
