Sekova - Fuzz - early Japanese Fuzztone clone

Can anyone identify this pedal? Says MIJ... Stamped on the bottom cover. 2SB175 germanium... Looks like Atlas wirewound resistors. Powered by a single cell? Haven't tried to power it up yet. I'll trace it if anyone is interested.

I wondered about it looking like a Maestro... but "MADE IN JAPAN"? were there Japanese clones way back then?

Looks a lot like one of those Sekova wedges. They were pumped out with all sorts of different brand names on so it's not surprising that this one doesn't say anything at all.
This pedal looks more or less the same thing.

nightraven, that gutshot looks exactly right. No chrome here, but also no real signs of any label at all. Thanks guys... You really know your stuff.
