Cool. So now onto proper heat sinks.

Now the amp uses these ones that look like an L shape piece of aluminum.

A hardware store would have such a think in a long length.

But I wonder if such a thing is available thru normal channels.

I have a gutted SWR Super Redhead that I will post as I bring it back to life. :D

it will be a nice project and I think it could work itself into a nice diy preamp for bass.
We just make the main PCB smaller for something like a 1590dd.

OKAY!!!

I printed out Bajas gerber for a prototype preamp board.

I am still putting together all the parts and working on a super redhead and now rebuilding a cbs twin into a non-master volume twin...with either power scaling or that goofy triode/pentode switch.

All I'll need to print out are power supply pcb and power amp pcb boards. :D

If this damned thing works... :horsey:

I have been on and off cruise ships and unable to really finish anything.

My first preamp board I etched upside down, but everything did check out.

I have to find a new location to get back into this.

I picked up a used Thunderfunk so now I can really get inside every damn piece of the thing. :D

Okay...so back to this beast!!

I had to replace the transformer. One of the windings on the original was short or open? I forget, but I still have the bad tranny.

So I will plug it in today and post voltages. :)

Been working on a few new'ish projects and hope to get the Pigtronix Mothership posted here soon. 8)

I was searching around the web for a Thundefunk/GB style amp for me to etch and get it done and came into this beatifully adressed therad by mike, baja and some other guys.
I've got it drawed because i could'nt find any reasonable priced gerber worker around her in my town. Anyway, i'm uploading it for anyone who is still interested in this awesome amp.
I've already got the etching paper bought and printed out, but before i etch it and start mounting it, i'd like to know if theres an actual schematic for the baja pcb, because there are some components that just are named, like the diodes. Is there an actual schematic or service manual that one of you could provide us?
Thanks a lot!!

Theres a schematic on the first or second page I believe.

The signal diodes in the compressor stages are just 4148's

The thing needed is a good transformer. The preamp layouts are good. Essentially the amp is good to go.

You can build just the preamp and buy an off the shelf power amp.
