I have drawn up schematics for Mazerati-GT, Stangray ,and Mini Z , so i decided to make a zip-file of all the known Z layouts and schematics.

Enjoy :D http://www.mediafire.com/?en4cmeen41o

I really like the look of the Carmen Ghai's tone control setup. I think I might give it a try :-)

I can't seem to download these. It says I need a supported browser. Do I need to get an account for this?

And thank you for the work on the schems. :applause:

*Edit* Got it downloaded. Thanks

this tone control is great but you must know it's a mid scooper and not a low loss one.
personnaly i like to insert a 47KA pot/trim between the 10nf and ground that let me dial the amount of mid-scoop/gain-drop. of course with this pot/trim maxed the tone control is less effective but restored mids sound better for distortion IMHO.
last thing, if it work backward your wiring is correct

Thank you.

Does anybody know the Route 66 transformer specs? OT primary impedance in particular.

I think its a 4k ultra linear.

Has anyone drawn up a schematic for the Prescription jr. yet?

Thanks. Why ultralinear? On the schematic it looks like normal push-pull operation...

no screen choke or resistor supply, KT66 screens are connected to a tap at the output transformer (43%). so it is ultralinear. the MOV/genalex datasheet is showing a 8K OT (with higher voltage) . i don't know what the good Dr use in it, but 6K6 and 8K OT seem common with KT66.

I havent seen a Route 66 schematic yet, but I keep thinking its gotta be an old mullard circuit.

You look in the mullard amp circuit book, theres a Ef86, and 2 kt66 amp that just seems to scream the route 66 to me...

I could just be really goofy too. :block:

OK rt66 tone stack is cool.

Hi, I am trying to build mini z for my first tube amp project.
I have a few questions.

1. It was impossible for me to get 40uF 450V and 20uF 450V capacitors used in Rectifier (Bridge?) section.
I was able to get 47uF 450V and 22uF 450V.
Values didn't really make a huge difference in PSU Designer graph but I would like to make sure if I can use those.

2. What should I use for Rectifier Diodes, 1N4001?

3. What would be the fuse size? is 1A sufficient?

I would really appreciate your help.

They will be fine. Caps are usually 20% unless marked differently, so a few uF won't make that much difference, if any.

I'd use 1N4007s, rated for 1A, 1000V.

Not sure, I usually use 2A fuses in builds of this power level.

I have tried the Route 66 BASS + TREBLE eq in my EF86 amp and it doesn't suck tone.

Any ideas on how to make the treble control more "trebley"? The bass pot works fine but the treble pot is a bit dark to my ears...

Thanks for your help.
