It's a New Era at TGP

Anything non-technical you want to talk about, talk it over and have beer ...

Remember that the person who starts a thread over there has the ability to delete it. A lot of thread "disappearances" are due to the originators, not the moderators.

I've lurked there from time to time since I was banned and have noticed the overall tone improving in the fx forum. People have gradually become a little more critical and there's a little less of the "swallowing it hook, line, and sinker" attitude. I suspect some of it has to do with you guys going over there and causing trouble, to some extent anyway.

Yes. When someone is talking authoritatively about something they really know nothing about, they are said to be "talking out of their ass". (or "arse" in the UK)

It's also called "bullshitting" or "being full of shit".

And here in Australia, we call people who are good at Bullshitting, Bullshit-Artists (excuse my french, but it was un-avoidable)....

I could just imagine all the colourful german terms for it, Seiche....

Hey, do they still use this term where you are Seiche?:

Affen Titten Geil (spelling?)

Apparently it's a term that old school Germans use when they want to say that something is really cool.... :D

hahahahaha

yeah that's kind of vintage. most people say oberaffentittengeil though. your spelling was pretty flawless apart from that it's one word and an adjective.

affen means "monkeys", titten is "tits". geil would loosely translate to "awesome", although the real meaning is "horny" It's a really weird word.

anything said like "it's the <animal's> <anatomy>" generally means that it's good; the bee's knees, the dog's bollocks, etc.
