Regarding signing up for a new account: What about posting a picture of a simple schematic and asking a couple of questions: Eg "what is q1" and "what is the value of the output cap"
??
Even a hack like me could get that right.

Just thought I'd post this link to a website I just found with some info about where all the Louis Vuitton spam is coming from, modman might be interested in this:

What the hell's going on?

3 pages of spam and I didn't get to the bottom of them, have they found a loop hole or is there just a team of them that are particularly dedicated to the task of clogging up the net in general and FSB in particular.

Edit
The mods must be on the case as they have all miraculously disappeared.

I reported a dozen Pharmaceutical ads earlier on.

But then I took a tablet and they all went away.

Apparently spamming websites has become quite a big industry over in places like China..... :hmmm:

Very well then, could you at least ask the admin if he can find the time to consider such an option ?

I suppose the simple schematic that greigoroth is talking about doesn't have to be an actual existing and functioning one. Just one resistor, one cap, one transistor and perhaps a switch, pot and some in-and outputs thrown in. Even the most basic member who joins up with pedals in mind instead of tarts' handbags should be able to find the value of the only cap in such a schematic.

It's built into the core of PHPBB 3, so all the admin has to do is turn on the feature and create a question (or two). It is automatically added to the registration form.

No need for electronics-related questions to weed out bots. Just about any question (or set of questions) will work in most cases, so long as it is not a yes/no answer.

Has anyone been noticing that just prior to spam being posted in threads, it seems to take a while for the webpage to refresh?, I don't think it could be due to an issue with my download/upload speeds since I'm on Telstra's 4G network and I'm getting all 5-bars on the signal-strength meter..... :hmmm:

I just moved over to Telstra's 4G network from Telstra's 3G network..... :thumbsup

This hildac07 is getting to be a real PITA.

I know modman has a life outside of FSB so another moderator or two with spammer tossing privs and they would have been gone after the first few posts.
