Cardiff

I'm on my first well deserved holidays since 7 years

We have chosen Cardiff, Wales and just checked in

Anything worth to see that it's not in official guide books?

"Go West, young man!" If you go to Swansea, there's an amazing beach just to the west called "The Mumbles" - it's very beautiful
"Why is it humming?" "Because it doesn't know the words!"

Got some tips for tomorrow from extremely polite Hotel Lady.

Off side - I really dig Welsh accent, very melodic

hey sinner, am glad to hear you are getting some quality time out. i hope you have a grand holiday.

the south coast and wales are my favourite bits of britain. very chilled and beautiful. and i know what you mean about the welsh accent. it's up there with the scottish accent (edinburgh in particular) as one of our best.

have never spent enough time in cardiff to advise re town things, i tend to stick to the tiny off-circuit places on the more western coastline, but am sure your extremely polite hotel lady can do a better job of recommending places than me (isn't theresa may trying to stamp out extremism?). but anywhere coastal and the cotswolds (obviously) always worth the effort.
you're also very close to bath, which is definitely worth checking out if you get restless and fancy a venture. i lived there for a few years and never had a bad day there.

by way of a random factor, maybe do a film location search for submarine? one of my favourite films of the last decade and all shot in wales (town bits were cardiff i think). worth checking out the film if you have rainy day hotel downtime. will break your heart.

Link

have a good one.

ps. if you see richey tell him to stop mucking about and get home. everyone is still worried about him.
"be a good animal, true to your instincts" (d.h. lawrence).
"there is no excellent beauty that hath not some strangeness in the proportion" (francis bacon).

Today I feel tired like a little biatch. This is what long term driving is doing to me. We went to see the town centre, and we made few plans for tomorrow. Doctor Who Experience (Who? The fucking Who - that's who) is in plans as well as the Cardiff Castle.

I've seen Submarine - three times, great movie. I think it's a great idea to track down the places from the movie, I'm sure my wife will love the idea, as she also seen it and enjoyed it

How you enjoying the Welsh summer weather?
Can't help you with the "meth and whores", but what are your interests?

Check out Cranes, Gamlins and Gwent music in Cardiff for guitars/amps/pedals.

The City arms is good for real ales (great beer).

Techniquest is great fun (and if you've got a kid to take along, makes you look less like a big kid).

And as mentioned above, Mumbles is fantastic for beaches, Cardiff is not.

Damn you. But I do enjoy other local goodness - The Rev James - good job on that Cardiff dudes!!!

Actually I've checked Cranes today. Holy fucking batman! Boogie Mark 1 (x2 one in wood with GEQ, otherone without in cream), Mark 3 in wood (not sure what stripe), some Fender 90's CS amps... Really nice, it sucks to be poor

The City arms is good for real ales (great beer).

Task for tomorrow

That's for tomorrow too

We will take the last day for drive around

Thanks for the tips
