questions about subminiature valves.

Im going to attempt to replace the 6205 valve in my groovetube brick mic preamp.

Its soldered in, so im quite worried about mucking it up.

The valves with pins only go in one way - how do you know with a subminiature which leg is leg 1, and what rotational orientation its placed in?

Im replacing a groove tubes 6205 with a sylvania nos 6205.

There's a gap between pins? 1 & 8. Holding upside down pin 1 is on the left. See datasheet.

Take a look at page 6 of this datasheet: https://frank.pocnet.net/sheets/129/6/6205.pdf

thanks for the replies, i now realise that the subminiatures have the extra gap between the first and last pin just like the bigger valves.
