carvin Icon bass preamp
Alright, here is my contribution to the site. I had a friends carvin Icon bass to replace the opamps due to no polarity protection and figured I would take a few pictures in case anyone is interested. http://www.carvinguitars.com/products/505S is the preamp that comes standard on the Icon and Lb series bases. I have aded a protection diode and socket-ed the opamps.

We don't have too many onboard preamp schematics in this forum...
Hey, I just started a thread about my rewire & switch mod on the same preamp. Just wanted to mention that this preamp or at least mine with a 2010 stamp now comes standard with a diode "D1"
Nope. It uses two battery boxes with equal sized contacts. Only reading the markings will tell you which is which.astrobass wrote:Why a protection diode? It uses a 9V battery with one of those irreversible battery snaps, right?
