Starr Switch onboard EQ...Help!

Postby ferretjoe » 21 Nov 2013, 18:16

Came across a '78 Ibanez MC 400 with the original onboard EQ removed and replaced by a Starr switch onboard unit , and cannot find ANY info on it, If anyone has anything such as wiring diagrams, etc. I would be most grateful.

Here is what i've found after a quick search, all about the stock MC400.
A "wire by letters" wiring diagram : http://www.ibanezwiki.com/display/CATAL ... 0%2C+MC500
A schematic and gutshots of the preamp/EQ board : http://www.ibanezcollectors.com/discus/ ... /2421.html

What the heck is a Starr switch, and what does it do ?
Pictures may help someone identify it.

What is your goal : restore the original circuits, repair a malfunctioning Starr-whatewer-it-is, just curiosity ?

The board in the MC 400 is a starr eq that replaced the stock ibanez unit. starr switch is the former name of Starr labs. they made (make?) a ss switch for strats and now have a synth guitar on the market. but their site has no info on discontinued products. just need some info on how the board hooks up, or where I can get the OG parts to restore the guitar.
