Hi Modman
I have the FIRST Seymour Duncan newsletters - 4 or 5 issues in my workshop somewhere - I will dig them out and scan/post them if you are interested - some interesting stuff from late 70s early 80s, when he was just establishing his company - graet reading!
cheers

Wow bajaman, that would be awesome. Those have become historical documents by now. Whenever you find the time, ...bajaman wrote:Hi Modman

Hi Modman
I found them , and have scanned them too
There are four issues (all from 1982)
I think that was all he produced - they give too much information away
Each issue is in pdf format, and they are at least 10Megbytes in size (each one).
How do I go about posting them to the site, or shall I just send them to your email address
Each issue is 8 pages long - I could break them up into separate pages, but I don't think I can compress them much more - they would probably be unreadable
Cheers

10MB for 8 pages is too much....
normally one page is about 50kB, have a look at the patents....
did you scan them? scan them again in B/W save them as .gif or .png.
this formats need the smallest amount of space.
Hacker´s advice:
You also can have a look for the program XnView which is freeware, and where you can easilyconvert from color to B/W or grey from .gif to .jpg.
If you need to break apart a .pdf look for Ghostscript/ghostview. With this you can convert from .pdf to .bmp and then with Xnview you can convert from .bmp- to .gif or .png.
But I think 10MB should be possible at my gmail account. I can convert that for you.

Hi AG
I have split the first pdf into 8 .png files ( approx 850k each page)
The first issue was a photocopy - so not the best quality - the other three are original black and white scans.
How do I upload the first issue to your site?
PM me if you like.

Baja, great work (not only talk) !
Reminds me I still have to check that gmail thing. A community account hasn't been set up yet, I believe. Will work on that tonight, now in the middle between two meetings, things will get quieter from tomorrow onwards.
Keep up the good work. You could also at photobucket or comparable hosting sites if they have the appropriate smaller size.
thanks again.
