thanks, roseblood.
I much prefer to leave the plug in the guitar for convenience (and I'm sure I will often forget to unplug it).
If I were to mod it, I'd add an on/off switch. Or better yet, change the current toggle switch so that center is off (but I suppose that would require installing a switch with multiple contacts).

Bad idea. Using that switch would always lead to a very loud popping noise.
Adding an extra switch will work, off course.

good point. and there might be a delay.
I set the VSC to cut bass and treble in the up position and boost mid in the down position. Effectively, It is a 3-position volume switch. I have Seymour Duncans and the first position cleans them up some and that is most useful to me for chording.

it's a TRS jack that cpnnects ring and sleeve if a cable is plugged in.
how about pulling out the jack one notch and leaving the plug in (actually I feel 3 steps when I insert the jack)?
is it the last click that connects ring and sleeve?

I`m looking for the complete schematics of the Blade VSC3 preamp. All I can find is the mid boost part and lots of dead links...
