Hi all.

I'm reaching the point where it would be good to have my own nice, regulated, multi-unit power supply. I know the Voodoo Labs box is kinda the gold standard supply box, but it can't be THAT difficult to make one. Anyone got suggestions or schematics for such a thing? What do you use?

you can use this pcb and replace the 7809 by a 7812 if you want 12V

There's a bipolar power supply on general guitar gadgets, but that's a single +9 and -9. I hacked off the +9 part and copied it a number of times putting all the sections on one board. I now have one board with 1x -9 (for positive ground pedals) 2x +9, 1x +12 and 1x +24. I have yet to connect it to AC though, I have the board etched and soldered, but that how these things go......

Yes, 12v @ 1.25A switching power supply meant for a laptop that I got at Value Village for 3 bucks or something. Any wall wort with 12-18 volts should work fine.

does the higher the voltage of the adapter the more quiet will it be?

the resistor is 100r right? or is it 100k

I have no idea if a higher voltage will make it quieter, but the closer to 12v, the less voltage the regulators have to drop, making for cooler operation. Any less than 12v, and you may not get the voltage regulators to work properly. The resistors are 100 ohms not 100k.
