Those little potentiometer nibs (panel mount)
Question - So these little nibs that are made to sit in a tiny hole in the enclosure, next to the hole that the shaft goes through...What do you prefer do with them? Do you bother drilling a tiny hole (a pain to get just right) or do you just cut them off?

Drill the hole for the potshaft and use the nib to scratch the radius of the hole. Then drill that hole and make your pedal more reliable.

On they stay

What a GREAT idea - I may just leave them on in future.Drill the hole for the potshaft and use the nib to scratch the radius of the hole
thanks for that Dirk - often the simplest of suggestions are the best!! What a perfect way to mark where to use the centre punch.

Keep in mind to, when doing this scratching on the top of the case, rotate the pot 180 degrees compared to the final mounting position. Otherwise your hole ends op at the wrong side of the pot... I've been there.
Furthermore, the sole reason for keeping this nib is to make sure you won't ruin your wiring due to a loose nut. It does extend the reliability of a pedal. (I cannot count the amount of broken ts-9's where the fix was simply to get one of the pots back into position so none of the outer lugs made a shortcut to the case or another pot. With use of the nib this would never have happenend)
