Hi all....

Im *somewhat* new to this, and have a few questions. I've built a number of boxes, mostly on veroboard, and a few on perf (though those have been rather simple). I'm about to start a new build, which will be an MXR blue box clone based on the tonepad schematic. Ive tried hunting out vero schematics for that circuit, and they seem impossible to find. As I started trying to make my own i noticed that the tonepad parts layout is very geometrically organized, and all of the holes seemed to be drilled in a grid-like configuration. I guess my question is, should I be able to layout the parts on perf according to the tonepad layout, and then just make the "traces" manually underneath in solder or jumpers as applicable?

That might totally be the way one is SUPPOSED to do perfboard designs...im not sure. hahaha.

Yeah, I've done a couple of builds where I basically just copied the PCB layout onto perf, it works well and it's a very easy translation. I'd say go for it. In past I used to just perf without using a layout at all, but nowadays I always use DIYLC to create my perf layouts before I build.

I say go for it with the Blue Box onto perf from the Tonepad PCB layout, should be easy enough.

But as Rick will tell you, vero is better than perf

I might give a vero for it a bash mind if you'd be interested.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo! The best use you can put a piece of vero to is to attach a stick to it and use it as a fly swat, or for draining pasta.

Loitering your own gallery space with vero's, I know you love it secretly and wish you weren't bound by perf.

ooops - busted! Though I built mine onto Tripad, I had a couple of requests for vero layouts and it was really easy to translate from Tripad to vero. That's my excuse.

Hmm, did anyone ever do a layout for that blue box? If not I think i'll go for it from the PCB layout as suggested by FC. I've always wanted one of these anyways.
