I am still gathering the parts to assemble a Penfold fuzz... (https://www.freestompboxes.org/viewtopic ... 42&t=23412)

here the schematic: https://imageshack.us/a/img194/7117/pfof.jpg

It asks for some 100V axial caps, does it make sense on a fuzz feeded with a 9V battery?
Most important, a 4700μF 100V axial cap costs 6.45 euro here in Germany (about 8.7 $)!!!
Radial caps are cheaper (I have no idea why), but few are available at that voltage rating.

Has anyone already tried to use caps with lower voltage ratings?

thanks

You can use 16V or 25V, or even 35V rated caps in that circuit with no problems whatsoever, Penfold probably used 100V caps because he had them in stock....... :thumbsup
