Finding values of the green capacitors

Postby nagshay1818 » 25 Jan 2009, 22:29

Hey guys. Got a box of various parts from a friend, and I have no problem getting the values of everything, except one type of capacitor.

They are green capacitors. No clue on manufacturer or anything. All I know is the code on one side. The code is written sideways from the radial leads. One code is:

"2A502K"

My guess for this would be a .005 uF with a 10% tolerance, but I have no clue what the 2A would be for.

Most of them have this code, but there are a few others. If someone can tell me what value this one is, that would be awesome, but if someone can explain how to read the code to find the value, that would be better. But any help is appreciated.

Thanks man, but I know how to normally code capacitors. I just can't figure out what the 2A in the beginning means. Anywho, here's a picture of one:
