I remember when i was repairing an old ADA MP-1. All the electros were labeled with mF.
I was confused to say the least. First time and only time I've seen caps like that. Pretty sure they were xicons from the 80's, but don't recall for sure.

As a standard practice i typically use a u. non standard characters often get lost in "translation" if you cut and paste or send an email. I wish everything was UTF8, but it isn't.

The American alternative can also be "Alt+ 0181" using the other numerical keypad.

But this alternate method for illustrating pots has me a little more flummoxed. :scratch:

If you have a link that explains this stuff in English I'd delight in that. :thumbsup

The wiper is the arrow. (lug 2 on a pot) They just use a box instead of a -/\/\/\- type symbol.
Resistance is futile...
( if < 1 ohm )

Yarp, I can get to that. But they also draw the wiper without an arrow instead they use a "T". I've seen them
drawn both ways in the same schematic document. I thought there might be some esoteric detail as to why...

Arrow - normal potentiometer
T - trim potentiometer (probably the 'T' is just a coincidence together with the trim, I've never looked at it as a letter)

Usually, the arrow points in the direction you turn it up, so lug 3. But there's probably loads of schematics where it's the other way around or with no consistence at all, so don't take that for granted. Actually, you should be able to get the right direction from the surrounding circuitry, because you know what effect the pot has when turning it. Also, I don't think that this has anything to do with European/American notation, I've seen it like that on schematics from all around the world.

Does anyone know the value of this cap? Supposedly, it's a 220n box cap from Bitsbox.

Thanks,

0µ22 = 0.22 µF = 220n
k is for 10% tolerance
63 stands for 63V

:wink:
