2N5089TA transitors. I am attempting to make matched pairs of transistors.
I am using a Cen-Tech cheapo DMM because it has a
NPN and PNP tester on it. When I test these NPNs they measure
at 510-559. The only problem is, what does this number mean???

If I am trying to match up a pair for a Fuzz Face. What number is
best for this. I read the article about the Technology of the Fuzz Face
and the number he give as a sweet spot is based an a tester he built.
The sweet spot if somewhere between 80 and 100. My numbers from
my tester is no where near these numbers.

If I could figure out what the 500 numbers mean on the DMM I could
better figure out which transistors to pair up.

Any Ideas?

Thanks in advance guys

Hmm, the 2n5089 probably wouldn't be one I'd be looking at for a FF. Have a look over at Small Bear for a great FAQ on FFs.
