darlington mpsa13
I have always liked these.

I have built a few circuits with these.

I have a bunch of them. I want to try something new with them.

Suggestions?

Simple as I am still learning.

andys ultra lord?

i like mpsa13's as well and i been trying them in just about every build lately.
i got a mpsa13 LPB in series with a souped up MXR dist +,dude,it sounds sick.
I'm thinking of putting bancikas diode switching layout in with it as well.

now i'm way OT,anyways if you dont have an UL try one.

well a LPB on its own with mpsa13 i dont know, but it does make a nice difference in front of the dist+ which is actually a fuzz now and doesnt resemble a distortion in anyway.
i built the LPB straight into the dist + with no bypass so its always on, i have another one i'll try on its own with these tranies tho,see what it can do.,

I am still waiting for someone to have a breakthru on the mpsa13.

there has to be something cool and simplistic that can be done other than doom. nothing against doom I have a bunch of doom boxes. But, there has to be some decent overdrives boosts conventional tones to be had.

I get the impression that most guys look down on the darlington and just don't try them in circuits. Therefore nothing much other than wall of buzz circuits.

MPSA 13 are good for I/O-buffers.

Yes - much higher input impedance and very low output impedance makes them ideal as buffers or LED drivers

They also work good in a univibe clone's LFO circuit, and as Q10 which is the last single transistor phase stage.
