treble toggle w/ led
Hey guys, another noob here. I'm building an lpb-1.I added a treble toggle with a dpdt on/on. Worked great. I tried to add an led for the treble side. It compressed the #@%& out of it (I now know why). I got some sub mini incandescent bulbs but they don't work. Do I need a different switch, a new approach or do I just have some broken bulbs? Help is greatly appreciated

Hey blades, welcome to the forum.
Beavis Audio has a great page on switches, including a layout for a switch that you want.

I think I have it. 3pdt. Led goes 8 to 9. Then 8 to the clr on the board. Am I in the ball park? Thanks for the welcome and the link.

I'm not entirely sure. For the treble mod, you have to switch both caps, right ?
Then here's how I would do it, this is your 3PDT switch.
1. stock cap 1
2. hole on the board for cap 1
3. treble cap 1
4. stock cap 2
5. hole on the board for cap 2
6. treble cap 2
Exactly like Beavis drew it.
As for the LED
7.
8. ground
9. LED -
For uniformity, use the same value resistor on the LED + side that you use for the on/off indicator, then both LEDs will shine just as bright. Put the other end of the resistor through to the battery and you're done.

Great! I'll pick one up tomorrow. I've been using the wrong switch and approach. Can't thank you enough.

Toggle came in the mail earlier. I followed the guidelines and it works great. Thanks again

Good to hear ! You've doubled the versatility of your pedal and the added LED is a nice and classy touch.

This project got left behind and forgotten about. After building it, there was a noticeable volume drop. Still learned a tool that could be interesting in a larger circuit.
