2N5458 for Dr. Boogie?

good day..fellow men.

i just wondering can i use this kind of jfet to all the transistors inside dr, boogie circuit? Anybody have a opinion on this?

Google 2n545458 2n5457 and you will find comparisons. They appear to be interchangeable with similar gains

The build at guitarpcb.com uses the 2N5457 instead of the J201 so you might want to take a look at that

J201`s have more gain and are more softy and creamy sounding, while 2N5457 have less gain, and more bright sound. You should experiment with diferent transistors at all positions in circuit and find what suits you best. Also when changing transistors, you should fine tune trimpots for every single transistor.Cheers
